Halo Freezing After Editing Pistol On Halo Level

I got Hackman installed last night, loaded up Halo and copied the cache000.map over to my pc. After sucessfully changing the AR projectiles to Horseshoe of death projectiles and Pistol projectiles to plamsa grenades, I decided to alter things further. I changed the grunts to marines and the pistol projectiles to banshee projectiles. Halo then began to freeze up every time I went to fire the pistol. I then changed the pistol projectiles back to their original setting, but it still freezes up. If I don't use the pistol, things seem to be ok. But one thing I noticed: when the horseshoe of death enters the level and drops off the grunts - there are none, the ship is empty except for just one elite.

Can the offset for the grunts be screwing up the pistol projectiles? or is there a problem with the way hackman is saving the file? The very first time I saved the edited file, hackman took 85 seconds to save the file and once done, the saving file progress bar stayed on the screen for quite a while after it was done. After that, the file got saved immediately and there was no progress bar at all. Is this normally how Hackman works?

Is there another way to replace the grunts with marines? I'd like to create levels where you are playing against the marines.
