they use a program call halomapexpander which someone has recently made a gui for.

( i have not got this to work correctly as of yet)

tried it too
HCE doesn't seem to write anything
downlaoded cache
edited it with HCE
rebooted (wihtout going to Halo)
then binary compare, nothing found sad.gif
gonna check that out

anyone found sp maps working??

I tried those codes for PAL Silent Cartographer, Egghead, by manually editing the hex, but it locks up on load :-(

Are they working for you?

on silent i have so far been able to replace the warthog with the following

Banshee
Lifepod
Pelican
Covnant Dropship

and projectiles
Ar bullets to rockets
banshe bolt to rockets

i'll post others when i find them.

your values worked fine with my PAL version. Just curious, how did you go about extracting the offsets. I'm willing to help, but a starter on the map file structure will save me a lot of time.

Take a look at 'OnlyMe's post just above and try some of them (For some reason his banshee offset is dif to mine)

i got my code from the hex file itself i searched for "ihevtinuejbo" without the "" and it brought up around 52 results so i started making notes of the last 4 bytes of the line EG

wait for v0.4 then I'll convert bin's to ini, etc
maybe if EggHead has more interesting news I can use that wink.gif

i changed pistol bullets and AR bullets to fire rockets and it freezes my game every time i go to fire.

heres another one too i changed the warthog to the banshee and flew around in it ok for 15 seconds and it froze up on me.

OK after a lot of testing I have decided to release the information I have found.
To convert NTSC offsets to PAL offsets only in Single Player is quite simple
but to find the raw data is just plain annoying (all manual)

Examples:
Object-------------------------NTSC Offset------------PAL Offset
Equip - Health pack----------c78af38----------------c78ef38
Equip - Over shield-----------c78ad38---------------c78ed38
Weap - Pistol------------------c77ee58---------------c782e58
Proj - Needle-------------------c790818---------------c794818

As you may have noticed only one set of numbers have been altered
ie. c790818 => c794818
All the conversion is the addition of 4 to this set of numbers or 4000 to the offset
c790818 + 4000 = c794818
c77ee58 + 4000 = c782e58

**Remember: If you do the calculation in your head, remember it is in hexadecimal
**Remember: Do not use the NTSC raw bytes (the A4 D1 19 81 ect.)

This works on all single player maps. Please report if you find any errors
or even just a conformation that this did work (plz include what you changed)
