Halo just DOES make a cache- it HAS to - otherwise the level wouldn't appear....

With all these INI additions to HCE, will the next version have all that code compiled into it? I'd really love to use some of it, but can't be bothered to actually use HCE-INI editors etc.!:)

7.)  A hex-editor for the Xbox would be very useful to many.

just use HCE (Halo Cache Editor) on your XBOX, Much easier i think.

Sometimes it uses a different cache partition as well, be sure to check them all.

Hey, I am a fairly noobish halo modder, but i'm working on a paintball mod for Blood Gulch.  So far I've just added a bunch of extra trees and rocks for cover, and modified the weapons a bit.  But now I'm wanting to alter the grenades.  I really want to create a smoke grenade.  I would like to make one of the grenades create a big cloud of smoke, that lingers near the ground for roughly 10 seconds or so.  I would prefer the smoke to be white, and to cover a somewhat large area (probably 2x to 3x the radius that a normal grenade effects)

If anyone knows if something similar to this has been done, or has any suggestions for me to go about doing this, let me know.

Can modding be done without a chip, (like softmodding)?

ok, we have AI for multi, but what about running JUST the AI on a multi game with the first player? like, have just the first player with a few AI's and no other xbox or other players?

computerdude, just check out halomods.com.  Go to the Files secton and grab some programs like halo map tools 3.5, and sparkedit.  Or a good program you can use for direct hex editting is UltraEdit (found that on download.com), but if you already have the hdd hex editor that should work fine.

If you're just looking for the offset lists so you know what you're editting, you can find them on #xbins i think.
