alright i don't know if anyone has looked into or tried this out, but i like many of you want to make these hacks permanent.  the first thing that came to my mind was the gametypes saves.  I created a new game type and left all the default settings alone.

i then created a second gametype and change only the setting for the weapon which i changed to shotgun.  I then found the files in the udata folder (i'm pretty sure, but could be the other) in the e partition.  I transfered them to my computer then opened them both up in my hex editor.

i tried to compare the two files to see what values had changed, but had no luck as i'm not too good with hex editing.  I think that creating custom gametypes with the hex hacks would work out much better than just hexing the maps as this way you could easily switch between hacks.

this would also provide a perminate fix rather than cache files.  also you could transfer the game saves to another box with your settings for that gametype and play system link without worrying about sync errors.  i hope that someone out there can help me out getting this to work.  if you have any ideas please pm me, or icq 13952736 or aim Ps1l0cyb3

Well I think there should be a section, "Video Game Hacking" with the subtitle being, "Hacks, trainers, Cheats for you favorite Video Games!"

about permanent changes.
the cache files that people keep messing with have the same location offsets as they're original counterparts. (a10.map, etc)
Using the HUGE project outputs for these levels i was able to determine this. but the values to change make no sense whatsoever to me. If someone could make a variation on the HUGE projects' program, one that gave the values to change to, not only would they be permanent, but we could theoretically change much more than just wepaons, vehicles, etc... the HUGE project outputs give listings for every object in the level nearly. so we could even change the physics model of vehivles (Flying Warthog anyone? [[by replacing the warthog physics model with banshee]])... someone please!!!

Also, some brilliant coder needs to input all of these values into a program so to make all this shit easier to change. !!!
