Car Mod: Counterpart Car Names
« on: June 06, 2009, 12:07:00 PM »

I was wondering if modding that gta3 file was modding the actual model, or if that was changing the car names.
That's all I want to do, so I went to change the files in vehicles (in data), and the car names were gone.
Do I gotta clear my cache first, or do I have to deal with gta3?

Will a second edition copy of the game affect any of this?
Sorry if that's already been answered, I just don't want to waste any HDD space on some downloads.

the titles of the cars is stored in the games text files.

the file your going to want to modify for that is
GTA San Andreas/text/american.gxt
(or whatever language your using)

your going to need the GTX editor

if your looking to actually remodel the car itself its a bit more complex.  Not sure which one you were going for from your post but if thats the case, let me know and I can break down that method as well.
