Hi everybody, so after many times of reloading San andreas patching the XBE, i have finally figured out how to replace the OEM cars with created ones from the PC.

IT kinda sucks though putting em in one by one, to see if they crash the game.

I know alot of ppl have been doing this modding for a while now, i just thought that it would really cut down the trial an error process if we could compile a list of cars that actually work with other cars fine, that do not crash the game.

What do u guys think?

From the criteria i have been reading i know that the size of the TXD file doesnt matter, but the DFF file has to be under 512kb right?

and TXD files myst be compressed and saved as VC XBOX.

If im missing anything let me know.  And hopefully we can compile a hard list of everything that would work fine with everything else.

the image size in any vehicle txd file actually does matter.
512x512 and/or 1024x1024 size can cause the "white bug" due to xbox's 64mb ram
(white bug= the bug that causes building/road/grass/etc textures, the exterior textures, to be transparent/dissappeared),
i suggest resizing 'em to 256x256 or under.

dff size should be under 1.0-1.5mb, but if u want to have tons of vehicle mods at once ingame then i suggest under 300-500 kbs.

pretty much all of vehicle mods for pc gta sa's compatible with xbox gta sa (except the txd files of course, u'd have to convert 'em to "vcxbox" first).
u'd have to use 3dsmax/zmodeller2 to convert/edit .dff files of gta3/vice vehicle mods to gta sa if u want 'em for xbox gta sa.

I have the same problem. I have 24 vehicle mods installed on san andreas and it will crash in the middle of the game. So what should be the limit be on how many mods? some of them are way bigger, they're around 5 to 6 mb in dff. Unfortunately most of the mods dff file are larger than that. is there a way to make the dff smaller.

well to be really sure, I'd say whatever your mod is, should match the filesize of the stock file your replacing.    But even then, I've had San Andreas crash a few times on me with no mods.  A crash once in a while is to be expected.

Allot of the stock dff's are under 1 mb. Way far from 1 megabyte. The the dff mods i seen are up to 6 megabytes. It never crashes on me when don't have no mods at all, unless i entered too many cheats at once.

10 sounds like a safe number.  anymore than that and they better be well preped for the game.

I haven't really pushed gta3.  I only have 3 vehicle mods installed, but it "should" be the same.

Ya, i have 3 installed. It only freezes up fro some reason if i go to a different island. Like i drove the 97 camaro to where the welcome to portland splash comes up and the music on radio still plays but it just locks up there. The only ones i have installed is the Firebird you gave me and a 97 Z28 that the dff file is 470 kb's TXD 371 kbs. A Chevy truck that replaces the bobcat. The dff is 294 kb's and txd 519 kb's. Are those too big? what should you say i do?

unlike san andreas gta3 and VC are not as "mod friendly" meaning they hang in game often for no reason.  it can be really hard to figure out why it hangs but I think the area of the map may play a part in your situation.  make sure you can explore that area in different vehicles.
