Ok, where do I start. First off ive been trying to mod GTA for about two weeks now, no luck. I want to edit a certain TXD in the TXDWorkshop, but it won't let me. I want to edit some of the cars paintjobs and some of the player.txd's. But I get an error everytime i try to open the txd in the workshop. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. thats kind of a hard place to start, but you can if you want. The best place to start, is modding files within the gta3.img archive.

Also if you just want to change the color of your painjob, you can do this by opening GT GAME/DATA/carcols.dat with notepad and editing the car you want accordingly.

You can find a very easy to follow starter tutorial for GTA VC by yours truly here

once you get the hang of that, SA and GTA3 really aren't much different. In fact GTA3 is almost identical as far as mods go, and SA just needs newer tools. A majority of these tools can be found here

well see dude im trying to modify the player.txd from gta vc and i cant i get an error everytime. all iwanna do is extract the bitmap and inject it, and i cant. ive downloaded so manyh programs but none work. and btw im modding vice city not san andreas i have v2 san andreas so i cant mod it

what other apps have you used?

I remember having trouble with one txd file. But i could extract the bitmaps with the app ViceTXD and make entire new txd file with TXD Workshop. Might wanna try that if theres not too many bitmaps.

Also you can mod San Andreas Second Edition. Not to the extent of the first but, well try it for your self.

so I don't understand, did you try ViceTXD yet?

as for the tut, what screen exactly does it freeze at?
also did you apply any other mods than just the ppf patch?
