Error When Repacking Dvdr With Hot Coffee
« on: July 24, 2005, 02:43:00 AM »

I xferd all of the GTA files from the XB to my laptop...then i replaced the two files in the data/scriipt folder and reburned via UDF (Universal Data Format).

I also deleted my saves.

The game now loads up and during the loading screen after the "press start" prompt, the load bar begins to fill up.  about halfway through, it takes two of the random images and starts cycling them over and over again, kind of like a hiccup.  the bar still loads, and once it gets to 9/10 of the way full, the game freezes (although the music can still be heard).

any suggestions?

Check that the time and date are correct in your MS dash.  ;)

Mine cycles the same 2 images also but it loads fine. What dash are you using? Did you try to play it directly from the HD?

Using Ava, and I can't play directly from the HD b/c when I got the XB I opted for the standard stock 8 gig (mistake).

Can you tell me how long it takes to load, if it starts cycling at the halfway point of the load bar and if it kinda sticks 9/10 of the way full?

OK, I re-ripped GTA:SA using a different FTP program, dropped/replaced the main.scm and script.img into the data folder and it works...loads up fine...

but when i get to certain missions, the game crashes/hangs on the mission load up screen...one time I even got a dirty disc error.

everyone else's GTA for XB has been working ok?  Any ideas?!
