Righteo, people most ur modding finds and so on in here  :D

I just used the vice city DIR file with the SA IMG file and guess what? i successfully extracted a file... woohoo  :P

Only problem is that i get an error message when i try n open it  :grr: :

Access violation at address 004865A7 in module 'txdworkshop.exe'. Read of address 0000041C

It was worth a try I guess

Yep I did exact same thing and got exact same error sad.gif

Maybe we need to use different Dff viewer, I dont no

Yep, we need to know weather or not gta sa pc has .dir files although I don't think it will have. Anyone got the pc version to tell us?

yep, added the dir file and IMG tool opened it right up.  It looks very different though...  
also I extracted a txd file to see if they compressed them again (curiosity) and I can't find a program to open it.  guess i'll have to wait till TXD Workshop 3.3 gets past beta.

Hello 82_Z28 can you open the dir up in notepad then copy and paste the text on to this forum then we can make the .dir file?

the dir file is straight out of the san andreas disk.  They might have used the same file however... I'll check in a sec.

just did a hex compare and they are different.  You got the San Andreas one.

what they may have done is started off with the VC dir file and added on.  I'm not entirely sure how it works to be honest.

Also, I carn't find any files in it that are from GTA:SA uhh.gif  uhh.gif  uhh.gif

Are you sure this is from San Andreas????? lol

i took a closer look at the file.  your right I didn't find SA files either.  Why did R* have to make things so complicating? lol
