Having Trainer Trouble? Solution Inside
« on: June 10, 2005, 05:31:00 PM »

Ok this is everything you must do in order to get the trainer working
IMPORTANT:
THE .ETM FILE MUST BE PUT IN THE PROPER PLACE IN ORDER FOR THIS TO WORK...(See below)
Also this instruction is for the use of any evox trainer
____________________________________________________________________
HOW TO INSTALL THE GTA SAN ANDREAS TRAINER

STEP 1. Create a new folder on your computer called San Andreas Trainer

STEP 2. Download and unzip the trainer and place it into the San Andreas Trainer folder you created

STEP 3. FTP the .etm file to a folder on the C:\ Drive called trainers if the folder is not there...then create one

STEP 4. Go into the Evolution X dashboard and select system Management

STEP 5. Go into trainers and find Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas +10 and select it

STEP 6. Select and activate ENABLE at the top (Make sure it says YES)

STEP 7. Now activate any cheat or cheats on the list (Make sure any you want to use all say YES)

STEP 8. Once you get all the cheats you want to use active go to the very bottom of the list where it says SAVE and EXIT. And activate it.

STEP 9. You should now be brought back to the trainers screen

STep 10. All you need to do now is navigate bcak to the games section, select SA and play

WARNING, DO NOT REBOOT THE SYSTEM ONCE YOU ARE DONE SAVING AND EXITING THE TRAINERS SCREEN......YOU ABSOLUTLY NEED TO LAUNCH/BOOT THE GAME FROM THE DASHBOARD THAT CONTAINS THE TRAINERS. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS THE CHEATS WILL NOT WORK.
____________________________________________________________________
Also LepPpeR suggested this to try as well:

if this is not working for you please do the following and let me know:

1. Must boot from Evox.
2. Goto settings, turn TSR ON
3. Turn In Game Reset OFF
4. Set game region to DEFAULT.
5. Save and exit

Note: This trainer is for NTSC only.

You might also want to clear your cache drives (X,Y,Z)

Now if you have done all the above and the trainers still don't work for you. Then you either did something wrong
OR
there is something wrong with your system.

i couldnt get the shit to boot from evox for the life of me... unless i disabled TSR which is for trainers...

some kid on maxconsoles has a deafult.xbe he sent me that for some reason works with TSR on.

i dont know how he modified it.. but maybe someone could ask him so we could get it working a legit way, that is.. not asking for the actual default.xbe.

I can tell you what he did and you can do it yourself.
Either in:
dvd2xbox
or
some other file explorer there is a sectioin in there that says patch .xbe

But hey if they sent you a modified .xbe file...use it!

If you are using Evox as your dashboard, the TSR thing is basically from what I understand, a Trainer Settings.  There are three different modes.

1)  Normal or Debug:  I'm not sure about the differences but in this case my xbox will not boot GTA:SA with either one turned on.  However, this must be set in order to use trainers.  I think Normal is what's normally selected.

2)  Off:  GTA:SA boots fine in this mode for me, but trainers do not load in this mode.

So, for me right now it's kind of a catch 22.  I can use the trainer and not load the game or I can play the game and not use the trainer.

Hope this helps some.

If you have it Try in unleash X.

Highlight the xbe file, activate the Patch xbe file, let it do it's thing, and then you should be good to go.

i had the same problem and i fixed it by renaming the "default.xbe_orig" back to "default.xbe" and i changed the name of the patched "default.xbe" to something else so it does load.

I used flashfxp
