I'm sorry but you people here need lessons on how to create instruction manuals/guides for people whoi can't follow all this complex lingo you people mention. People can say whatever they want too but the fact reamains that if people know how to write this stuff...then why don't they do it?

You people can understand this stuff but you can't keep applying that assumption of "Well if I can understand it then everyone else may eb able to also" That is wromg thinking. When you write this stuff you need to write it from the view point of someone who has absolutley no clue as to what your talking about. And if you either can't or don't want to do that, then you either need to
1. Not write the manula
2. get someone else to write what you can't
3. Don't bitch that you explained it and tell people it can be understood. No your thinking is wrong you wrote it so that a few people could understand it not so that EVERYONE can understand it. The key sentence being everyone can understand it.

If you follow the outline that I have created below for creating a tutroial/guide. Then people will have a better understanding of the things people are talking about.

Lets face it people here aren't to swift when it comes to knowing what is needed in order to get things to work. However the peoiple who are answering the question are the same when it comes to explaining thins to people that can't understand. I mean look at the same questions that keep getting asked over and over and over again by the same people. All that does is take up un-neccessary forum/board space. Not too mentino all the smart ass asswers people give such as if someone asks where is the map of the prison...Some smart ass would answer it's in the prison...Those types of responses don't get anyone anywhere as well as just creating more of the same questions.
It doesn't help that the people asking the questions to begin with don't bother reading what's on the board or googling it or even trying it on thier own before giong tot he board. That is due to the fact that the original post wasn't pinned so it got burried in the forum. However people should use the search section also.
But it seens unless the instruction is pinned then you will not have good control on board flood. I have seen really good instructions not get pinned and they should have been, and I have seen instructions that never should have seen the light of day that were pinned.

Now granted there are just going to be somethings that you just can't explain.
In that case, then all you need to do is say that.

Some tips on how to go about properly writting an instruction manual/guide:
The best way to do a guide is to write it while your actually doing it. so that you are writing down what you are seeing that wayt eh person knmows what to look for
Make sure you cover every basis you possibly can such as did I make a back up and give an example of what something should or does looks like at each step.
Do all the steps co-inside with the way it's done.
Go over every step in the manual while actually doing it on whatever it is you doing

Then put the manual to the test by actually installing whatever your doing according to how you have written the manual.

You can download any guide I have ever done and you can see it took some time and work, but I have a manual that has been downloaded over 500 times and not one question has been asked on how to use anything in it. I even wrote a few tutrials here as well.

The point to why I gave these 2 links is to not only show you working manuals, but also show you that it can be done.
Iw ould have given you the link to the Mortal Kobat Deception Guide I wrote that's pinned but I can't get into xbox.com in order to get the link. but you can see the guide at xbox.com go to the games section forum (You may need to register) and then go into Mortal Kombat Deception (The guide I wrote is hopefully still pinned it's written under the name tx3000)
anyway these 2 links and teh info I have provided above are another example of writting something properly so that anyone can understand it and I have every angle covered so that questions can't be asked about it. This is my whole point to this topic itself

How to create a readable/understandable guide

Basic GUIDE/INSTRUCTION MANUAL GUIDELINE INSTRUCTIONS

The first thing you need to do is create a list of every single thing you need and need to know and post it saying in big letters read this. For example if you need to know x86 then you state that you need to know x86. and then you provide them a place to get it.

The second thing you need to write is this sentence:
Unless you know and have everything on/from the list, you will not be able to or you will have problems with this guide so get all the above first.

now you can proceed to explain the set up and how to go about doing whatever it is that your doing

1. You will need this tool and you get it from here (Insert link)
2. you need to install this (Insert program use Copy Shortcut)
3. once you get these to things running you will need these (insert items and if needed the link as well)

Now your set to start Modding.
to mod you do this:
1. place this file ypou got from here and place it here (Name place)
2. next place this file here and then you will see this
3. If it doesn't look like step 2 then do this too fix it (Insert instruction)
4. then do this
5. Then do this
6. Now check everything and try it
7. If it doesn't work then these are the reasons (Insert reasons and give examples if neccessary)
Now try this and if it still doesn't work then it simply won't work

Once all the above is done you then need to do this:

1. Check and make sure any links you provided work You can do this by sending a PM of it to yourself and clicking the links in your PM that way you can correct anything you see

2. Spell check everything

3. Once everthing is set post it

4. Have the bastard pinned

This post is an elaborate flame. I would consult a grammar/style manual before writing a 5-paragraph essay to attack someone else's writing. I don't think this is going to be a "sticky" anytime soon  

Maybe you can rewrite some of the offending tutorials using your method
