Ninja Gaiden Black: Save Games/mission Mode Gone

just booted up ninja gaiden black for the first time in probably 6 months, and noticed that many of my saved games are missing along with the mission mode that is unlocked after you finish the game.

i have been constantly tinkering and updating XBMC, including clearing the cache and deleting some unnecessary folders from the HD, but i am positive i haven't accidentally deleted anything i shouldn't have (i.e. save game files).

notably, the game still has my save from the final level before the last boss fight, so presumably it also remembers that i have in fact finished the game? mission mode was definitely there when i first finished the game.

any help with this would be great!
