Hmmm, perhaps too much spam? Anyway trying to dig it up with some resources it has been removed. The link to the program KRMaker website is http://www.geocities.com/krmxbox/ and the thread for it (before the "Tool To Add Songs To Original Karaoke Revolution") is at http://forums.xbox-s...hp/t464597.html

I tried digging up recent archives from xbox-scene but only goes up to April 1'st 2005 link below:

my guess is the talk about copyright content and the uploading of it to the ftp.
@sopor, please take that stuff off the ftp, there is no need for that to even be put up.  all it did was ruin the great thing we had going on and the great stuff people were putting forth.  you have been great as well with providing the ftp, but still we cant cross the line when it comes to rules about copyright content.  if we are all to gather here at XS and share with each other, we need to strictly abide by the rules or else there could be consequences for us much worse than a deletion of a thread.

What are you talking about "all it did was ruin the great thing we had going on" if anything it enhanced the game. And all the hacking fourms talk about copyrighted material, I don't those threads getting close. Also BrokenArrow I don't remember seeing any spam on that thread, unless in occurred within this week. I just logged on today and saw that the tread was gone and I'm just as confused as everyone else, so don't start posting comments speculating about why you think the reason for the thread disappearing. Just wait for a mod or administrator to explain why.

The thread itself is under review.  There is a small chance it may be returned to public view if the admin decides it's worth the effort to clean it up and remove certain posts.

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=456338 -> Note the addition...

A fair amount of leeway was provided for a great deal of time, but some members chose to take it a step further and share retail game content via FTP server.  True, we don't take issue with members talking about copyrighted content, but when a project like this becomes a springboard for piracy action is taken.

Note that if you have the ability to read this post as something other than a guest, your account has not had action taken on it.  Those members who broke the rules have been suspended pending admin review of their actions (and are more than likely not returning).

Still don't get it
99% of the thread was about taking a midi file or mp3 loading it into the program. then after several days of tweaking the file you could create a new song for the game..

If any one person took it upon themselves to post link or make available the "live downloadable content". I don't see why the entire thread should have to be removed. The person or persons who made it available should have been dealt with.

If I remember the thread correctly, the main person who had the ftp server shut his server down. another stepped up and started a server. mabe this person had the content on their server and was unaware that this forum frowns upon it.

All I am saying is that a warning should have happened first and the offending post edited. if continued, a ban for the individual. then if things don't improve, KILL THE THREAD .

But WTF do I know! I still believe that most people are honest and fair..

It will be reviewed and be made available again if deemed appropriate.

Yes, a good deal of the eariler posts where just what you state, and maybe be restored.  However, recent activies centered on using sopor2's FTP server to share files, for which this forum became the means of communication.

This becomes a problem as soon as that server contains copyrighted files, simple as that.  Our rules are clearly posted at the top of every forum and posting page.  Ignorance is not an excuse.  Those who are concerned now could have taken the initiative and asked the host to remove the content.

Any one concerned member could have taken that upon themselves, as well.  The staff are not required to remind people that they're responsible for hosting copyrighted content.

Warnings have been given... the rules are clear, there's a specific pinned notice in this forum regarding content and distribution which was made to address the problem after a previous karaoke game thread turned sour.. none of this is news here.

Regardless, appropriate suspensions have been leveled where necessary and the admin has been notified.  I will contact him again about this matter to see how much of the original thread will/may be salvaged.
