Anyway To Edit Textures In Nhl 2k6? Or Anythign Else?
« on: February 04, 2006, 07:51:00 PM »

Hey all,

I did a bit of searching and found nothing... so i was wonderin if anyone knew if you could do texture editing in nhl 2k6... like to edit the textures like the jerseys, boards, and goalie pads.

OR if anyone knows of any modding that has been done to nhl 2k6 AT ALL.

thanks for any help (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well since I dont have this game or havent played it, could you please tell me what are the filetypes for the game? If there is an images folder or something close to that which would best describe the images you would like to edit please tell me the extension to the file and I will tell you if it can be edited.

Try extracting the textures with apps like the ones used for the NBA Live series.

EA Graphics Editor would probably be perfect. It can open the .VIV or .BIG files and read most of the XSH (textures) files, assuming NHL uses the same system as the NBA and NFS games.

Sorry to be a bearer of bad news, but I can tell you from my experience that there is no way of modding any game 2ksports related. I've spent countless nights and early mornings trying to hack it.  I tried Watto's game extrator, hex editing, and some other methods I rather not get into here... If you find a way please feel free to share it.
