Half-life 2
« on: December 11, 2005, 09:59:00 PM »

OK, so I recently got Half-Life 2.  Copy it over to my hard drive, so I don't scratch my disc, and I look through the files.  Looks like its almost the same as the PC version when it has to do with where the files are, and the maps are still .bsp files.  Is there any possibility of modding this game to be like Half-Life 2 deathmatch, or possibly even Counter-Strike: Source?  Just wondering if anyone else has looked in to this yet.  It would be awesome to have Counter-Strike: Source on X-Box, because Counter-Strike for X-Box was just.. a piece of crap.  Guess it was OK, but the X-Box can do SO much better.

Well I dont know what you said because there were too many of thoise annoying ad things that were popping up from the text....but counterstrike is closed from unrealmack posting illegal links and stuff so u prob shouldnt mention that but Half Life 2 is moddable within a trainer style.

This game I have found out can be altered by the physics with using the XDK and the XDK assist made by Evox-t. You must install the XDK and then run half life 2, then run XDK Assist and connect to ur box while the game is on and then start editing values and if you know what you are doing then you will find out the hard way of modding this game. But thats as close as anybody has ever gotten.

*edit*--I could go in descriptive detail with you about this if you wanted...just pm me on msn: [email protected]

Half Life 2's core is nothing like the PC game. Someone worked on some BSP conversions from PC to XBox, but haven't heard from them. They are similar, not EXACTLY the same kinds of BSPs. Some work straight from the PC, some don't. And just a though, don't even think about trying to turn on any sort of multiplayer for this game, that's like trying to make a game support system link, without it ever being made. The game was programmed to be single-player only, what a shame. Good luck!
