Lets see if I can sum this up.  You need to get the DLC from an un-named location.  Then by performing this hex edit, everything should work peachy.

QUOTE(ohfara @ Nov 21 2005, 08:17 PM) *

changing the string c0 f3 a7 74 04 6a 05 eb af to c0 f3 a7 /eb/ 04 6a 05 eb af disables the header check on contentmeta.xbx . With this modification, PGR2 will attempt to verify downloadable content from another xbox. (Without it, it ignores foreign content completely).

By the way, the part of the hex edit "...a7 /eb/ 04...", does this acctualy mean "...a7 eb 04..."?

Where (what drive/directory) do you need to put the DLC in?

Hey guys,

just got the KRP Live pack, that rocks, man, all the songs from KR1 and more, I think it's all the songs from KR1,2,3 on PS2 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

It's like 155 songs in total (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Pretty cool

I don't need any new songs for the next week (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hey, I managed to get it as well, and the songs are great.

HOWEVER, has anyone else had this problem - My saved game was there but it is no longer counting records for me.  In other words, I had 18 platinum records and now, after getting about 10 more, it still says I haven't hit 20.  It seems to no longer be counting some of my unlocks.  Meaning I won't be able to get all the extra outfits etc (not that I care much, it's just strange)

BUT, it DOES seem to still be counting total points as I was able to unlock 'Taking Care of Business' by getting enough total points.

Anyone else notice anything like this after doing the complete song hack?

Interesting, thanks for the tip.  It makes sense since all the songs I've been doing lately are the new ones.

Is there anyway to edit the game that it looks for the extra content on the dvd itself so you could have a dvd with all of the extra songs to take to a friends house or something.

Reviewing the main HDR file and playing the game recently, I realized there are some songs not included in the update. Jackson 5 - I want You Back and I'll be there are not in the update but apparently are playable (according to the HDR file).  I was wondering if anybody knew anything about that.

Maybe it's an unlockable song?
Great job with this guys.
I think it's missing some songs from the 1st 3. Smooth Criminal comes to mind.

Interesting.  So you guys are close to adding your own songs as DLC?  Cool stuff guys.  Maybe I can help out.  I have a bit of... experience with this kind of stuff (adding DLC to games).  I know it's a bit different for each game, but I know the basics (such as building contentmeta.xbx and contentimage.xbx files and getting them signed).

I've worked with the Mimesis team before about creating support a few games (KotOR, Black Arrow, and soon GR2 and PGR2) and have had good success.  I know the Mimesis team is always looking to expand the number of games supported by Mimesis and I think that this game would be no exception.  If anyone wants, I could take a look at the DLC for this game and try to figure something out.

By the way, I've read that the data is already on the DVD and the DLC just unlocks it.  This is not entirely true.  The package that goes into "$C" might unlock the package, but it doesn't mean that the data is on the DVD.  There is one game I know that is a perfect example of this (not going to get into specifics).  The data (along with a few updated files that add it, ussually a .ini file (it was listed in here somewhere, but I don't remember it's name)) can sometimes go into "$U".  Anyway, if anyone wants me to help out, let me know.

Can anyone who has Dolby Digital 5.1 support confirm that KRP doesn't work for them in true Dolby Digital. In my case, almost every XBOX game we have including the original KR work perfectly in Dolby Digital but not this one. Even the DDR demo works in DD.  My receiver drops back to Dolby Pro-Logic with resultant loss of sound quality. I'm wondering if it's anything to do with the hacks or whether it just comes that way. Thanks in advance.

Can't tell you if DD5.1 works, but come on; ITS KARAOKE!!  You realy don't need DD5.1.  I am sure that Dolby Pro-Logic will sound just fine.
