I have access to doax tools v2.5 and afs explorer as well as the usual programs such as photoshop. the game that it is for is slightly contraversial at the time so I think everyone is slightly sketchy about it. I will say that I have access to any save that was hosted on xbox-saves which covers basically what i need combined with the xbins items. I do not have XPRbreaker or ninjaAfs unfortunatly but I beleive I can get by without them.

you need bossafs... with that you can add transparency to the dxt1 files... normally only dxt4 have transparency flags

Ok, you guys should put out a book for noobie-isms because I have since seen a lot of stupidity in the hardware modding forums. so here i one for the game mod sections.

what does bossafs do, or rather, how do i make it do what it does. It seems that all i can do is brows and select an xpr, then simply veiw the ddl files within. what am I doing wrong? Oh yeah, I can exit the program also. I'm real good at that.

I have got no idea what i am doing here. i get bug errors sometimes so i tried changing some of the stuff, this is in the texures and transparencies option by the way, and when it looks as though it may be working it gives me an error saying it can't veiw the reworked file and something about decompression. If I'm an idiot and you are not sure how to help me, it's cool. I will piss with it to try and make something actually happen but if u have any advise or anything that may be helpful I would be greatfull.

I think that you also must change the resolution of the DDS file, in order to add transparency.  So, if you add transparency to a 256x256 DDS file, you need to reduce one of the dimensions by 1/2.  Meaning the resulting DDS would be 256x128.
