well it is a lot better graphically then kotor and it isnt another damned star wars game no offense but there is enough of them already and the bonus disc really has the making of the monk guy with his weapon and thats about it..all i did was i went and booted up the game disc and then when i went to main menu i put in the bonus and when the game crashed i turned the power off and when i turned it on it loaded up automatically and had to update xbox live for me and installed content and it worked fine for me.  I was more worried about live messing my mod but i dont use the original i use standard avalaunch so it was all good

What I did to get the bonus disk to work:

When I originally put it in and tried to load I would get an error message. The same thing would happen to me when I tried to play Playboy: The Mansion when it came out. To fix this problem I went into the System settings menu in my evox dashboard and scrolled down to the Video section. There are 2 titles, the first says system setting or something like that and tells you it's set to North American - NTSC. You can't change this one, but underneath it there is another setting for GAME REGION. This one you can change. When my xbox was softmodded it was originally on DEFAULT setting. Change this to North American - NTSC. When I did this, I put the JE Bonus disc in and it loaded without a problem. When it loaded I selected the option for the monk character and just pressed the A button. The character downloaded to the xbox and I was able to select him if I wanted.

I'm still stumped as to how to back this game up.

The Monk Character and the Cool STaff is available on the bonus DVD.

PLUS I think not being able to get the bonus CD to work was the big issue :) and just trying to figure out why!

First I had backed up Jade Empire Disc 1 to my hard drive...works no problem.  Then I inserted Disc 2(not backed up yet) and the main menu would load but was unable to play the Forza demo...I would get a black screen.  So then I decided to back up Disc 2 to my hard drive.  Once that was done....loaded Disc 2 and the demo works(named CDX on the list of games on my hard drive)...no problem and was able to update the Monk Zeng Content too.  I even tried putting Disc 2 back in and try playing the Forza demo...same thing the black screen.  But since its on my hard drive...have no worries.

I'm using a softmodded xbox and i had the same problem.  I just reinstalled my m$ backup and the 2nd disc worked fine!  Then i just reinstalled my softmod and dashboard.  That stuff only takes like 5 min.  Also doing this helped since this is an old xbox that i bought used and its never been online, when the 2nd disc updated m$ xbox live, that let me patch it so i can boot to the m$ dash when i want.  m$ dash still won't load the disc though, unless it is reloaded as the original dash.  Hope that helps!!

To avoid dashupdate:
Del dashupdate.xbe (prob. isn't on the dvd5 to save space)
And or I recomend using NKpatcher with virtual c: drive

That worked. I had downloaded just the monk files from the usual places and tried but it didnt work. Switched from default to ntsc and now it works. SWEET.

well i skipped all the reading so sorry if i skipped something, but anyways

all you have to do is turn off autolaunch dvd and such and then HOPEFULLY, you have dualbooting enabled on your mod. and if you still dont know what dualbooting means, it means that when u put in the game disk and then take it out, the xbox will keep running the game until you get to a loading point of a new level or something.

now just have that dual thing on and autolaunch off and it should work. I had this problem earlier because my mod didnt support dualbooting even on the dash 0_0

so be sure to either get a softmod or some new BIOS if you have a chip that supports those things

edit:  o yea, run the first game disk and then load to the other bonus one with those settings i just told u

[I got Jade empire to work with ease.  First copy the tow cds onto your HD.  Then open the CDX file and copy the monk files.  It is automaticly done for you when you hit download.  Then turn xbox off.  Turn on, and then just play the game from your HD.
