Mvp Baseball 2005
« on: April 06, 2005, 12:30:00 PM »

I've got tut's about this from other sites which say to edit the datafile.txt in /data/database. My problem is that I can't find the directory path or file anywhere (modded xbox with ftp access). I've asked on the site with the tut's but no reply yet.  :(

Does anyone here have any idea what I'm on about, why I can't find the directory & how to find it?

datafile.txt is inside the datafile.big file

data/datafile/datafile.big

Ok, but I can't find the data directory. Is there a reason why not other than me being thick?  :D  Seriously though, I have looked but it really doesn't seem to be there.

This would appear to be my problem, I have no MVP root. Infact I have nothing for any of my games.

Hard drive or DVD?

if DVD you have to copy the files from the disc to you computer (using your xbox) edit the datafile.txt file and then make a new ISO and burn it to DVD

Cheers for your help fella - I was looking for a saved file on the hdd not a file on the disk. Got hold of dvd2xbox & was able to edit.

I've come across another problem & was hoping you (or anyone else) could offer some assistance. After editing the datafile I go to compress it using gfxpak that comes with EA Graphics Editor & get an error message saying can't compress. I followed the tut step by step except for open datafile with notepad (said it was too big so I used wordpad instead). Could that be the problem? If not any ideas about what else it could be?

use eazip to compress it

http://files.simcentral.net/index/Detailed/3722.shtml

gfxpak fails on some files, eazip never does.  But gfxpak compresses files tighter if it does not fail

Thanks again for your help. I compressed the file but then the game crashed while it was loading.

Can you see if I've done anything wrong in the following:

Copied game to xbox hdd.
FTp'd datafile.big to pc
Extracted using EA Graphics Editor
Opened in text editor & replaced Pareds values (remembering the 2 xbox specific 61 & 62 values) When this crashed also tried replacing with his whole line as there are a few other differences between the pc & xbox battingview6 lines. Saved.
Compressed using eazip
Ftp'd to data directory

I'm using unleashx, do I need to do anything with the config file to get the game to load, or can you see something wrong here?

BTW, are you the one who's had the spat with that fuzz dude over on mvp mods?Don't know what it was about but his ego seems way out of control. Don't take any shit!

Everything sounds right, try downloading someone elses datafile and see if that works.  PC datafile should work on the xbox they all did last year

and yes the child known a fuzz started some shit with me, he imploded because I told the truth.
