I have an 83 z28 with a 305 TPI and they are virtually the same car. Im lookin into this twin turbo kit for it. Im not sure how much it costs, the website doesnt list a price. But it will boost me to about 600hp atleast at the wheels

I have to admit, if I had to buy a newer car, I'd go with the Trans Ams

Man, I never flame friendly people with American muscle cars, so don't take this as such, but there is no way a twin turbo will boost a 305 to 600 hp...

So much flaming of the 305. It's not THAT bad an engine. Stock for Stock it's only about 20 hp shy of the "amazing" 350. I'm not saying it's a better engine, but it could be a lot worse. And when you look at almost every friggin 350 selling well in excess of book value it may make sense to buy a 305 to save some green.

As for the WS6 Firehawk, Id be ashamed to drive it. It looks so gaudy. Rims and an exhaust DO NOT warrant the price jump between the WS6 and the basic V8 pacakages.

and whats the hp of the normal LS1? 305 isnt it? not that bigf a difference when you look at the price.

Even more disturbing is that it says 330 hp right on the damn hood, and only yields 325 hp. Typical ricer deal. exagerate your HP.

I have never seen anywhere on my WS6 where it says 330 HP. The WS6 package is also the handling package. It drives and handles like it is on rails. Comes stock w/40's too. That is also something that is not part of a typical V8 package. But, hey, the wife drives it as it is the slower car in my garage. She only lets me fix it and wash it unless I have been a good boy!

im a muscle car person all the way cause to sum it up there plain better when it comes to power/acceleration at a much cheaper price wink.gif

nothing beats cubic inches .... V8 all the way... when u want a car with "power" v8 is only way to go... i dont buy a "performance" car for gas milage, u buy it for performance!

it's good to see people are smarter in here and most of the votes went to muscle cars wink.gif

69percent to 39percent  wink.gif

i dont know whats the deal with these "kids" nowadays likeing those damn imports... i swear it's all cause of that movie "The Fast And The Furious" lol

I think there's a lot of biases both ways in this poll. It really starts with the title itself where anyone who tunes an import is a ricer. I've seen plenty of people behind the wheels of V8s that I'd consider just as much of a ricer. And I've seen some very well done 4 bangers that'd put most V8s to shame.

Also, it seems a lot of people want to equate performance to being able to accelerate hard in a straight line. There's other aspects to performance that just get over looked. Handling. Whether it be weight distubution, skid pad numbers or braking abilities, these all play into making a car go fast on a real track.

^^I agree^^  I've seen some seriously riced out Mustangs.  Sooo sad.  I've got a 'stang and an 05 Altima in my stable so I guess you could say I'm a bit of both.  One thing you'll never see on my altima is one of those goofy ass stick-your-fvckin-head-in-it mufflers.  I plan to open up the flow on it but not at the expense of looking stupid.

I think we've all seen the video of the guy at the car show with the Mustang GTR. He claims it's a special model and has a rotary and upgraded pistons

I've not seen that vid.  Can you point me in a direction?  I'd love to see it.  Stupid people amuse me.  pop.gif
