Need Help Concerning Sonic Mega Collection!
« on: March 16, 2005, 08:36:00 PM »

Ok this is going to sound absurd but I'm assumong you cleaned the disk. I know that has happend to me a few times. It took me 4 cleanings with a rented game to finally get it onto my system

Also you might want to try this if you allready haven't

dvd2xbox is really good don't get me wrong or anything
but I usually only use HDDLoader to put games on my system
I only use dvd2xbox if there is a game that has a file name bigger than 42 characters. I've only had to do that once and that was with MTXMototrax.
The HDDLoader can only read a file name of up to (I think it's 42 Chracters long but don't quote me on that) I personally only use dvd2xbox for things like CDRWs and things like that and when I do I never use the copy entire disk on the main menu I always press B so I get into the drive selection. I'm not saying not to use the other way or that it is a bad idea to to use it by all means use whatever works for you. Doing it the way I decribed gives you more control over what does and doesn't go onto your system.

So if you have HDDLoader (Which you should) Then I suggest you use that.

Hope that helps.

Now this one I can answer for you

To answer your question about how to partion a game:
It's a real a pain in the ass if anything and more trouble than it's worth
Here is how:
You need to do it file by file, then place all the files once they are on your system into a folder and then transfer the folder onto either the games section or HDDLoader of your system Or you can transfer them directly from the disk into the game or HDDLoader right off the bat.
But now you need to get the game to show up in the games list so that you can choose it from your games menu. In order to do that you will need to place the folder with all the contents in it into the HDDLoader and then change the folder name to PXGame (and then place a number afer it.) I usually place a number like 86 or something like that. Once that is done reboot your system so the changes will take effect
You may then want to change the name of the default.xbe title to the name of the game. If the game doesn't show up in the game selection menu (Play games From HD then you will have to Change the Default.xbe title.
This will happen with Demon Stone when you place it onto your system the defalut.xbe title os blank. So it won't show up in the game menu until you give it a name.

Come back when it's done copying and see if there is an error log. If there is then just hit start and hit Copy/Resume it will transfer the fucked files smile.gif
