anyone working on this issue? I guess there's this really long process you can do to work around it in xbox however, I figured here someone would have the default.xbe for Fable to be hex edited to just start up correctly every time rather, than having to exploit some workaround in MSDASH everytime you want to play.  Besides, I could not exploit that work around anyway as, my MSDASH is inaccessible with an error 21 but evox works fine.  So any help on finding hex values would be great.  Running 480i on an HDTV looks nasty...

Also if you can’t understand why it looks like ass on your HD television here’s a little trick. Fable will sometimes refuse to run in 480p, but you can force it to by going into your dashboard. Open the tray with Fable in the drive and then go into your video settings in your dashboard. Turn off 480p and then turn in back on. Now hold both triggers and click both thumb sticks. This will force your Xbox into 480p mode and you can just close the drive and start Fable. Now if there was a series of buttons you could press in order to make it worth 50 bucks.

yeah im in bit of a pickle with this...that doesn't work for me in forcing 480p mode...I need the newest MSDASH which is DASH 5960 I believe.  I don't have Live as I don't reside within a broadband area and for some reason games won't update my dash as they take me to a service required screen.

QUOTE (Thraxen @ Sep 22 2004, 12:51 AM)
What do you mean it sends out a 480p signal but is actually 480i?   The input on my TV that my XBox is plugged into is incapable of displaying a 480i signal... it can only do 480p, 720p, or 1080i.  The screen is just scrambled when receiving receiving a 480i signal.  Not once have I ever seen the screen scramble while playing Fable.   So does this happen to everyone?  What's the deal?

The same is true for my PC monitor, but I swear it's in 480i.

Does this trick also work if I want to play Fable from the Harddisc?
