True, I know that there are some areas that don't get as much moisture as others.

I don't want to flame you, but there's no f***ing way that car has 179 hp, unless it's been turbo'd which would cost about $10,000 + (if done right) or it's had an engine swap.  Also, why does your dad have a dyno?  Those things aren't cheap.  If that car is so moddified why does it still have stock rims and rubber?

$10,000 plus eh??  That is an outragously high overestimate.

and how can you tell those are the stock tires?

10K for a turbo system for a car like that is WAY overpriced. Christ. you could swap the engine from my former Sprint into it and have a turbo engine. Swift GTI injectors, a fuel pump, and an upgraded turbo and you're getting there....

I still don't believe that car has 179hp or whatever the number was. I would like to think that anyone who could mod a car that well wouldnt put a queer wing on the back of it.

FYI, my car's tires were replaced with tires and rims the same size as stock. I did this because it's pretty hard to beat 13 lb 16 inch rims. If weight were a concern smaller rims would be better.

Of course it is.  You live in Canada. wink.gif  Definitely not easy on Vehicles.  Anyways, it looks like my RX-7 has a busted alternator as well (or some kind of short in the electrical system).  I got it jump started today, backed out of the driveway and then struggled with it for a few feet and quickly pulled over just as it died.   blink.gif

Sure enough it was the alternator.  Even worse was that the one that the shop replaced it with burned out after only 20 minutes (defective) so now I have to wait until they get a new one in tomorrow.  I sure hope this one lasts.   dry.gif

You got to be kiding, why would I put that in when I can have the Garrett T-25 Liquid cooled ball Bering turbo, my job is alot better then what you would find in a stock Sprint or Talon.

Greg Sharpe's Metro is pushing over 300 hp last time I checked. On a STOCK, ONE LITER, 3 CYLINDER engine. All he's done is a turbo replacement and fueling upgrades. But whatever. There's not even a turbo kit available for my car and I can almost promise that for under 4K I could turbo it and produce at least 150% of stock HP with NO issues. (Assuming I have a stock engine and not my high compression nightmare.)

While I commend you for paying a shop to do your work and all, I certainly don't think 10K is needed to "properly" turbo a car. And certainly not needed on a car that already has a turbo.... IE Chevy Sprint...... God I miss my car...... sad.gif

And whoever said the Geo couldn't hold a turbo is wrong, because the GSI model comes stock with a turbo, and it is basically bolt on to install it in mine (But no I dont have one)
My dad got it dynoed from his freind, said freind went to wyotech or whatever that fancy school is called so he knows what he is doing

EDIT: Sorry to hear about the sprint Rylinkus, That thing is my dream car too!

So it's not even the GSI?  Then there's no way in hell it's got 180hp or 200hp or whatever you said.  The stock Storm is only 95hp and weight's 2357lbs!!!  So unless there is an engine swap or turbo (which you said it doesn't have either) there's no way!

It's not a matter of knowing what to do, it's having the proper equipment , which costs a lot of money.  There are tools out there that will give you specs on your car, but none of those $400 or so pieces of equipment will give accurate numbers.  If you want the real hp numbers (and I mean at the wheels hp) you need to use a dyno.  They usual cost about $130cdn for an hour of unlimited pulls.

at the time i posted that was the conversion that xe gave.
I too do not honestly believe that the geo has 180 hp.  and no matter what you say 10k is more than required to turbo charge that car.
