Are you talking looks or performance?  As far as performance goes I sure hope not.  You invested an extra $4-$5K to have a lower powered vehicle that is fuel efficient, so why destroy that by trying to turn it into a performance car (which like a Honda Civic should never be attempted on these cars).  There are plenty of cheaper options which will produce so much more HP if that is what you are looking for.     <

Yeah man but seriously.  You invest over 20K in the most fuel efficient vehicle out there and then try and scrap it to mod it.  You would be better off modding a Chevy Sprint Turbo or something similar.  A hell of alot cheaper and they will definitely produce some performance.  You aren't going to get any kind of performance out of a car with an electric engine in it. ;)  You could get a 300ZX nicely modded (about 500 HP) for that price.    <

i think that it will eventually become something very common, remember when the US cars all started switching over from huge beasts of HP to smaller cars with smaller v6 engines in them?  people will always want power, but eventually even the cars we have today as far as only gasoline goes will be gone and we will be left with hybrid only cars  <

If that happens then they will also make mods illegal in order to preserve gas.  As pointed out above, you can have power or you can have fuel economy.  You can't have both.  Either way, you would definitely have to remove the whole engine from a Hybrid before you could even think about getting some decent HP/Performance out of it.  So you pay extra for a Hybrid vehicle, just to rip out the hybrid setup?  That is about as intelligent as getting an RX-7 with an automatic transmission.     <

no no, you aren't looking at the future, sure right now if you want more horse power it involves using up more gas, but who's to say there isn't a new alternitive in the future?  and remember everytime someone acts against what people are doing to prevent it, those who were counteract with something new.  <

This is true but the fact of the matter is that until they come out with an electric setup that is just as strong (if not more powerful) than gas then it simply isn't practical to spend that much on a Hybrid engine and then just remove it.  You are talking about stuff that is at least 10 years down the road, he is talking about mods that are available here and now. ;)

And it won't be as long as the oil companies have something to say about it.   ;)   <

but remember why the cars from the 60s-70's started getting smaller to begin with, gas prices and insurance.  what is happening right now?  almost a 2x in gas prices round the us,  more and more cars will become hybrids over the next few years, and the technology will increase along side of it  <
