im glad you guys are having better luck with this ini file than I am with other games nobody else seems to be researching.  I found kick butt graphics options relevant to their PC counterparts for Unreal Championship's UC.ini in directory "Y" and when you back your version of Rainbowsix up so you can play on Hard Drive you'll find a similar RainbowSix3Xbox.ini

Now, my luck in the past of ini editing on Xbox has turned up nothing but bad.  I either make it so my profiles don't load (when editing user.ini files) or can't get them to reflect changes.  Such is the case with UC and RainbowSix.  Anyone know how to sign the ini files so that the games think they are the original default.ini? I've seen people do it with Unreal Championship's User.ini files and I can't figure out how they did.  If I could figure this method that, I'm sure tons of people know, I can have both Unreal and RainbowSix, Splinter Cell 1 and 2, Theif and Deus Ex (all unreal based engines) at a nice level of graphics splendor.  RainbowSix doesn't even have the command line UseXboxFSAA=true and Cachesize megs is only set at 1mb where in Unreal its  8mb.   Non of these games use the full 64mb of the system.  Only 32 from what I read in OXM about Unreal Championship when it first came out.
If I can get the ini files signed correctly, the games will look tons smoother.
So start working on any of the above mentioned guys.

Splinter - That's probably why some of these flags don't work.  It could be that some of them only worked in the first game.

Hmmm...that gives me an idea to narrow down the large number of flags to try.  If we compare all the flags in the .xbe from the first game with the one in this one, perhaps we can reduce the number of flags to try.  Does anyone have a copy of the original SP xbe file to try this?

QUOTE (jclins @ Jul 17 2004, 11:19 PM)
"Xbox-E" is the default for NTSC US version of SP2.  The "Xbox-Multi" setting I'm not sure if it's French.  The normal "start" screen has the following text on it:

appuyer sur start pour commencer

I don't know french.  If anyone does, please confirm this for me.

i confirm.

I was thinking that too jclins, but I don't have the first game.

When I was browsing through the XBE 2 weeks ago, I saw so many thing that made me think it was from the original game. There also looks like some thing that were just not implemented, or not fully taken out. There are plenty of notes in there.

OK, I'm getting started at looking the the first game xbe, but in the mean time I looked at the game.ini for no 1.

Boy does it explain a lot! Should have looked at this a LONG time ago!

Check it out:

And now a list of possible strings from game 1. Yes there are a lot of them used in game 2. Beware: big file!

CODE
ftp -s c:\lazy.txt

Now make a file call Lazy.txt (or what ever you named it)

lazy.txt
this is a rundown of the code  I hope I made it easy to understand

CODE
o 192.168.0.10 -(type o then your xbox ip)
xbox      (username)
xbox      (password)
cd e\games\spiderman\media    (the dir yours may be diffrent)
lcd c:\    (put the path to where the .ini file is on your harddrive here)
put game.ini  (this puts the file on the xbox overwrighting the former)
bye        (exits)

this was handy for me  you can quicky update the file you still have to cut and paste it in but hey... this look me like 2 mintues to make...

I have been messing around with a HEX editor and I have managed to edit just about any in game text, nothing special but i am trying to find something that might affect the gameplay itself.

Let me know if you guys have any better luck, this game has alot of modding potential(sp?)

If you put

GOD_MODE=1 under [INTS] section in the game.ini, when enemies attack you, their hits don't connect!!

Fantastic!
