Wav Files

Either the game would not work at all, or you would not hear sounds.  This is because the game is hardcoded to look for files that end in .wav and not .mp3.  It has no way to know that sound1.mp3 is supposed to be sound1.wav.  Also, the sizes of the files themselves would cause another problem, but that wouldn't even ever occur because of the first problem with re-encoding sound files.

actually, the size doesn't cause any problems. all of the radio station wavs and track wmas can be replaced with a blank wav or wma.

you can try converting to mp3 then renaming back to .wav and see what happends but i do not think it will work since the game doesnt have a built in mp3 player...
