Mtx Mototrax Hacking - Help !
« on: June 12, 2004, 07:05:00 AM »

Has anyone succeded in getting MTX Mototrax to work 100% of the hard-drive ???

I know Project-X loader can't do it.   (file names too long)
I've gotten it copied to my hard-drive using Dvd2Xbox with the appropriate .acl file.
But certain events and Rider Gear will cause the game to hang and crash everytime with a "...there's a problem with your disc..." error message on a blank black screen.

I've even tried copying it directly from the DVD to my PC using FlashFXP, and then using the "XBEPatcher v0.3" and running "XBEPatcher -mtx_ntsc" from an MS-Dos prompt.  But then, when I try and copy it from my PC back to the Xbox, there are about 70 files that fail to transfer due to "File Name Too Long".   I've tried running the game without the files, but it freezes at the initial Loading screen.

I've tried using FlashFXP, WS_FTP Pro and even Internet Explorer to upload the files to my Xbox, all with various errors which I believe are caused by the Long File Names.

Could it be a Bios or Dashboard problem ?   Maybe I need to update again...
I have an old Xbox v1.0, with an older X2-lite chip running the EvoX 3921 dash and a modified colored X-ecuter 4981 bios.  80 gig drive and Dvd2Xbox 057

Any help / direction on this would be Greatly appreciated !
