Having Problem Finding Cache Files...
« on: March 15, 2004, 11:00:00 AM »

I have been trying for two days now to find these cache files. I played Halo, the map that I was going to apply the patch to, and then quit. Searched X:\, Y:\, and Z:\ but nothing. I even looked in E:\CACHE\ but nothing. Then I played the map I wanted and several others but still nothing. Why does HCE work when it appears there arent even any cache files?

I have been using SmartFTP since the modchip was installed. It hasnt given me any problems thus far so I dont think its the software... and even if it was, why would it just not show certain files. Like I can see the files that other games chache, like RS3. Does it have anything to do with me playing a HDD backup?

Heres an update with more info. Both X:\ and Z:\ are holding Ava files. Y:\ is holding RS3 files at the moment, even after a 30 min romp through all the MP levels of Halo. But yet, HCE can read these invisible cache files.

For future reference, anyone else that is having this problem, use HCE. It has in-program menus to patch caches with ppf's. Wish someone would have told me this earlier.
