QUOTE (Parasitic @ Jan 21 2004, 06:57 AM)
Wouldn't there be a way to send songs over to the xbox via ftp to a place on the hard drive where the xbox live song packs are downloaded and stored? just convert them to whatever format they need, and maybe they would show up? then you can edit your own dance steps for the song? i would try it but i dont know where the song packs are stored.  I know this is an older thread, but i'm getting the game tomorrow finally and would be interested in it.

wait a minute, man your posting from the future? that is whack! it says Jan 21 on your post lol, im in hawaii and its still 20th, meh, oh well

is the dance pad good? like is it a plastic pad or something, not a POS rubber mat thing

i have the game, was trying to sell it but it's a HUGE hit in the dorm. We play it at least 2 hrs a day. The pad IS very underestimated. It's very sensative so it's not like it doesnt work. I myself paid $70 for the bundle. I looked for the music files and how to edit but have no idea how to. And do you know if you can play system link over xbc under the 2 player mode? I know there's no "system link" but it says waiting for player on the screen.  Lastly, I don't think you can make your own dance moves sad.gif. BUT THE BEATS ARE HOT!  muhaha.gif

here's my bit of experience.  Even if u put custom tracks on there, they are useless without Step Files.  I'm not sure what format Konami uses for them, but if u get StepmaniaX, then u can use BMS or SM files, which are found widely throughout the internet.  Goodluck!

How about getting the songpack songs for stepmania?
Are they new or just all old stuff that we can find?

I think it was said in another thread long ago that someone tried copying the song pack but it didn't work.  Don't quote me on that though.

I hope someone puts some time into figguring out how to integrate the dance packs. I dont ever plan on getting Xbox live for just one song (which is "Burnin' the Floor" as if anyone really cared.)

The file MUSIC is SNG format. Ive seen it before in I think some other DDR games when I extract them from my PSX versions. Its just a huge bundle of songs. Don't plan on stepmania songs to work on ULTRAMIX there called DWI files. So it be impossible. All a DWI is like a notepad file with a DWI extension. DWI stands for Dance With Intensity its just the arrows by itself nothing else. And the Mp3 is the song of course. And the PNG is the background banner or the PNG selection song. Sometimes theres no PNG in this instance the background would be just stepmania. Same with on the selection screen. When I tryed extracting before. I actually found a good extractor, but my modded xbox broke at the time so I couldn't do anything with beta/alpha testing. But, im thinking I can do it real easy still. You could google. .SNG and you will find some stuff. Thats how I found the extractor.

Edit: According to the first tool here: http://xbox-scene.co...php?page=xbexbx copying a SP from one xbox to another should be possible. If not you can just make a Live! account with 2 month free trial, register in 90210 and get the songs.
