I know this is an old topic but I ran accross it with a google search. This is one of only 3 places that even mentions the music_US.sng file. I've been trying to reverse engineer ddr on the xbox and I was very surprised to find out that, as far as I can tell, I'm the first one to try. I've been very successful so far. I figured almost everything out. I can extract any song, unlock any song, I can even add songs with one holdup. I can't figure out how exactly they're encoded. Either Konami removed the headers for the songs, making it very difficult to figure out what type of audio files they are, or they stuck them in some type of archive or compressed them (or both), or they encrypted them (least likely). Any way you go, I haven't been able to figure out just what they are yet so I can't play them. And if I can't figure out what they are then I can't add new ones. Other than that though, I think I've basically got it all figured out. I wrote up some nice programs to assist with extracting everything and eventually, if I can figure out the song format, I'll write up a program to add new songs. For now, if anyone has any expertise with anything like this, I would really appreciate some help in figuring this out.
