Every data file contains

1. # of files
2. file offsets
3. file lengths
4. filenames

You just have to find where these are declared in a hex editor, and then write a script so that the program knows which chunk of data to cut and parse with its respective filename.

You know the offset lists, way back in the times of hex editing halo tongue.gif
couldnt you use them as a basis.

Also the xml's produced by HMT describe the meta files which contain the data
for that specific section (vehi, weap ect.)
So couldnt the basis of finding these be implemented to this new program.

Any Idea's ?

The best way to learn how to script in MultiEx is to take a script for a PC game, then open up its respective data file, and see how the author put the script together. That way you get an idea of where all the elements are located in the data files.
