Default.xbe Not There?
« on: November 20, 2003, 01:56:00 PM »

First off, I do not pirate games.  I own this game and I only put games on my hard drive because my little siblings scratch the CD's.  I just bought True Crimes and when I try to download it to the harddrive, there is no default.xbe file.  The only thing there is a folder called "video."  Is this my bios?  XBOX?  Or a security thing from the game maker.  Please help.

i had same prob with Enter The Matrix, i think its a long file name issue

wile the program is copying from DVD to the HDD if it finds a filename too long to be copied it stops the copying and syas its done

you'll have to find a patch for it to make file names shorter

i might be wrong tho

I've been playing True Crime off my HD no problem.
There was probably an error in backing it up to your HD.

Are you sure you have enough free space?
What did you use to copy the files?
Can you see the files on the disk? It could be damaged and some of the files aren't readable.

Matrix did have a long filename issue, but True Crime doesn't..

(Every game will have a default.xbe.  It's the file the Xbox looks for to run the game.)

There was one other game that I had this problem with but I can't remember what it was.  XBOX War3z, can you explain a little better what I should try to do?  I am not 100% sure what you mean.  I appreciate all the help you all are giving me.

Well, I wiped off the cd, and that got it.  It just must have not been able to read it or something.  I don't know, but it worked.  Thanks guys!
