Well... of those features I can confirm the 30K works. The helicopters dont work like they are supposed to though. The way it is is that there are icons to buy the helecoptors at the helepads and they arent supposed to show up until after you pay... but they are always there so you never have to pay. The other things I've not actually tested out yet.

Currently I have "Ko-Gars' Multi-Mod v4,657.900643" installed... its another one that only changes the main.scm and american.gxt files... but it does a ton more... and so far its working really well. It seems like a good one to go out and wreak some havoc with. You start with 100K, 200 health, 200 armor, and an uzi. All cars are indestructable while you are in them. It has a speedometer. The doors lock on cars when you get in so you'll never get busted while in a car wink.gif. Your wanted level can go all the way up to 6 stars as soon as you start the game. Time is slowed by 5x. It does a whole bunch of stuff... and as far as I can tell it ALL works smile.gif

I've tried a few other mods too but those are the two best examples so far. wink.gif

I cant wait till someone figures out how to edit the .img file and add stuff to the world. (the stunt park and replacing shops with real places) New cars would be a damn nice thing too though.

well im gona give it all ago myself now.. i really want to get myself a gto, and an elanore into my vice city,. i guess ill mess with it see what i can do.


i dee no reason why it would not work. im sure they hardly changed much from the pc version.

  editing the weight, speed, center of mass, submerged percent, damage modifier (multi-plyer?) and braking... all work fine, but you HAVE to edit it before you first run the gmae... otherwise it resets to default somehow?

all these mods work because (im oretty sure on this) they are only changing main.scm but changing models wont and i dont know why have you tried deleting the .dff and then adding it? right now im looking for more mods thats use main.scm cause these are the shit

try checking the XYZ drives for gta caches, it fixed all my probs

i think the reason y we can't get new models in the GTA series because of the deflaut.xbe remember in DOAX we had to patch it to allow new textures.

oh yeah, back your saves up, then delete all of them off the hdd, this is another thing you need to do before you can run modded vc

That is a possibility I guess... But I dont understand where it is still coming up with the unedited content instead of erroring or something when it finds the new stuff.

Someone knowledgeable at xbe hacking should probibly take a look. I'd have no clue where to start looking.

I've actually not made a single save game yet... but I have deleted the save folders (made automaticly for the configurations) in TDATA and UDATA a few times with no positive results

You do need to start a new game (if not delete all your saves) to load most mods though... and considering both games auto load the last save it would probibly be best to delete any saves you did have to prevent crashes, lock ups and other irregular results.

Normally... no.
Most mods would require you to start a new game once you install it.
Model replacements I dont think would require a new game... but I'm not sure. Model replacements dont work (yet) anyway.

i have been looking into the car issue since the game was released... i have given the proper people 10 car models and texture files, and they are currently working on them to adapt their very popular tools to support xbox importing/exporting.

while the files appear to be the same, the texture format has changed from the pc to the xbox version, so that is needed to be figured out and applied to their current programs (its been done, their just testing)
