there seems to be a prob with ppfinfo
cos that offset doesn't exists it's too big
the file does some weird stuff for me

There wouldn't even be anything at offset 0x89030000 in the largest single player map.  That offset is wrong, very wrong.

Why not have pistol shots be sniper rounds so you could see them coming like the matrix?  Plasma bolts seem cool and all, but sniper shots seem like the closest thing to a matrix bullet.  jack up the shield a little and there ya go: Matrix modded in terms of projectiles.

I don't think sniper bullets have a model either.  Whatyou could do is make a new model based on the rocket.  Remove the tail fins and shrink it down.  Then it would like like a bullet.  Slow it down and you're all set.

That would make camping a buttload harder on BG

If the projectile already has a contrail, you can just change it to the sniper bullet contrail.  If it doesn't then it would be a little more difficult.

now you just have to find what item they are located under, and how far under it, then convert the offsets. Not too hard. Good Luck

The first few just change the rockets max ammo to 3.  The long one is the important part.  That is where the homing information is that gets put in.  Just see where that goes to, then find that same spot in a single player map and put that same hex in at the same spot (not same offset, but same same spot in that file's metadata).  If this post is confusing to you, wait for someone to convert it.

Ifg i do a search for that value, do i need all those 0's?  also, 89030000 isnt a valid offset, is there something im doing wrong?

How do you convert that offset? Basically what I'm trying to do, like the rest of us, is make a certain weapon on BG shoot a certain projectile and make if home in on whoever you shot it at, just like the rockets did.

BUT, that offset that was followed by the long line of numbers (0x89030000) doesn't exist in the BG cache file.

So either:

a.) Someone needs to convert that offset into some other kind of offset that "Hex Editor" can read
b.) TigerHawk posted the wrong offset

Considering, Dmauro, you are the very best Halo modder here, and are here the most often out of all the well-known Halo modders, could you please help us with that offset Dmauro?
