Need A Little Help
« on: September 09, 2003, 08:39:00 PM »

Well, for starters, get banshinject.
Put it in a folder with a cache003.map file.
Open a dos/command prompt window and go to the directory where those files are located.
Find the offest of the bitmap you want.  (ex. the Warthog on Bloodgultch = 42174960)
Then in the dos window type: banshinject -x 42174960 warthog.tga

Hope that helps

Its crashin for me too. Wonder if we all have somethin in common.

Reply if ur having  problems with the description of the problem, what operating system you have (WinXP, Win98 etc..) and version of halo u got (Pal/NTSC/GerPAL)

For me it creates the tga file up to 18bytes then stops and i can only extract 1 picture from the maps. I have PAL halo and a WIN XP o/s.

Anyone shine some light on us?

Well, I'm using XP Pro. NTSC xbox

Make sure you are using a cache003.map of Blood Gulch.  The command will be different if your cache003.map is really some other map.

if u downloaded recently i re-up'd a version of banshinject that lets u use other mapnames for -x and -s, u have to specify the cachefilename before the offset now....

i run windows xp and its all fine. make sure:
-u have the right output file for the right mapfile
-ur mapfile isnt set to read only or something like that
-u have the right offset and its in decimal, not hex

ive seen many many people complain it doesnt work but so far ALL of it has been user error, not the program.... i realize sound extraction for SP with sounds with more than 1 chunk is broke but its not high on my to-fix list, im working on AI now.

i have extracted the file fine and edited it and saved it as a dds but im having trouble with the injection. i paste in the comand line it gives me and it does this
C:Documents and SettingsAdministratorMy DocumentshalobanshBInject>banshinje
ct -i C:Documents and SettingsAdministratorMy DocumentshalobanshBInjectcac
he003.map 42174960 warthog.dds
Kob's Bitmap Injector

Usage: -i <cachefilename> <offset to structure of bitmap to overwrite> <file to
inject>

-x <offset of struct to extract (bitmap)> <output file name>

-s <offset of sound file struct> <offset of next item structure> <output file na
me>

Cache file name is the name of the cache file to inject to, usually cache003.map
. Structure offset is simply what item's bitmap you're replacing, enter as decim
al base for best compatibility (untested as hex). File to inject is a DDS file s
aved as in DXT1 format, it must be in the same directory. Credits go out to halo
-dev team (namely pfhorSlayer) for their awesome HME project from which this is
based. -x and -s assume the mapname to be cache003.map

like when you just type in the command line with no offsets or any thing.
whats happenin here?
And i have the latest banshinject aswell with the gui.
any help would be much apreciated  beerchug.gif
