Greets.  I really don't rip games, so I have very little knowledge of xbe files outside of apps.  But, I've got a mate here in Japan that backs his games up, and says sometimes the default.xbe (and others sometimes) are in Japanese, which don't show up properly.   He says he can change the filename, but says that he has to make changes in Evox which is a pain.

Is there a guide here on ripping Japanese games?  I didn't see one at first glance.

I take it you or your bud actually has the disk!!! and has a Pc with Jap characters as it's base. I'm not to sure if talking about this is up to par for this scene.
If I get you, *he's* trying to back them up onto his hard drive. with out useing HDDloader. Well if that's the case after transfering to his PC, he might want to use the *Transfer As* function in most FTP programs. That might cut down on useing boxplorer and such.
Any help?
