My guess would be that one of them was updated by Live, and the other was not.

I'm having same problem,  It's definately because of the update.  Can someone explain how to take the update off?  I know I can't ask for the new update here.  So can someone tell me what files to copy over.  My mod has originals and my xbox live box has the updated.

Thanks in advance.

Manually copying the update to the other console will not work. However you can remove the update from the live console.
Navigate to /e/tdata/4d53006e/ and delete the '$u' folder.

I believe DLC (including game engine updates) are bound to the specific XBOX.  So copying the update across would be tricky.  Your best bet would be to remove the update from the XBL XBOX.

Edit: Anger beat me  :P  ;)

Use a Linux or Evox save, which are easy to find in the usual places.  ;)

Blackhawk, if you can, delete your whole Halo 2 root. (the icon on the farthest left when u go into your hard drive from the regular MS dash)  Doing this will delete the auto update, but, get rid of all your Halo 2 saves.

Yes I'm running into that problem too, my xbl xbox is not modded.  So I have no access to the file structure.  Something new to learn.  I beleive its possible since BRIENJ says it can be done.  And as I've said before he knows his stuff.

But one more question,  does this evox save erase or overwrite the existing save?  I guess what I'm getting at is what's the easiest way to delete the update on a un-modded xbox?

If it can't be posted I understand.  I would just like to see some of the cars I made with Pedro's tools on-line.  (All perfectly acceptable)

Thanks.

This has been covered many, many times but there are several games that have a buffer-overflow that allows code to run on an un-modded Xbox and it's been used to make saves that can run either Linux or Evox, so you can get FTP access to your Xbox.  The games that saves have been made for include 007: AUF, Splinter Cell, and MechAssault.  You must have one of these games, the orignal version, and then locate the hacked save for it.  Like I said before, look in the "usual places", although I think the Linux save is legal, not sure though, can't remember.  Also, do a search for 007 Linux, or 007 Evox, and you'll prolly get a bunch of results.  wink.gif
