i'm at a crossroads with this personally. i can see everyones point.
and since i dont know them, i cant say that brienj, sniperkila, or angerwound are using this to cheat.
at the same time, i cant say that they arent. just a fact of life. its not an accusation, its an unknown. they can say they arent, but its up to you whether to believe them or not.
so there's one coin flip.
another one is this:
they arent exactly NOT doing anything to help people with the skins. they are providing the templates. then you skin the templates, send it back to them, and they get you the car somehow. so they are actually giving themselves more work to help others out.
at the same time, others become a victim of circumstance by having to wait and trust them to get them the cars.
**i dont play halo2, never got into the multiplayer aspect, only really ever played the single player much. so i dont know what got ruined, but dont hijack the thread telling me.
**i have heard that sniper did play with modded cars on live in pgr2. whether he was racing buddies or open rooms, dont know.
**do i think that it is their responsibility to protect live gameplay, no. modders are modders, cheaters are cheaters. i'm not much for holding information from the modders to protect others from the cheaters. if i was in a room and caught someone cheating, boot them. run my own room. report them, whatever. there are other means.
**so do i slam or flame these guys, no. why, because at least they are TRYING to share what they've figured out in a way they feel is "safe" instead of sitting on it. do i agree with it completely, no, and i have a right to that opinion.
**i believe the information will come out eventually, in one way or another.
**and for the last time, my belief is that its not the information, its the idiots that use it that ruin it for the rest of the people. but if i felt it was my sole responsibility to protect the world from idiots and morons, i'd be in jail for a very long time.
