listen, i'm not gonna get into this bitch fest of egos, because its just lame to sit and go back and forth with people online.
so this is a blanket statement, because i see it in more than just this forum.
the scene is supposed to be a place to share information. in sharing information, people learn things they didnt know from people that did. for those that have the knowledge to expect others to already possess it is just assinine and egotistical. its a way of saying, "i know, and you dont, so you must be an idiot", instead of "hey, you dont know, well this is what you do." entirely too many times have i seen the wrong attitude. seems as though people forget what the hell the scene is here for.
i can understand why there are wants for "controls" for certain releases. but to complain that people dont know how to use a tool that you created, just kinda shows you didnt build a simple ui. and thats fine. you didnt want the time into an easy ui, thats your perogitive. but help out those that dont know how to use it. if they dont read the readme, then just tel them to read the readme. sure, tool is easy for you to use, you made it. and for others "in the know". there is a difference between someone respecting you because of what you know, and respecting you for who you are. being jerks and pricks to "newbs" or even just someone that doesnt know something that you do, well, its just pointless.
there are a lot of things to do with modding i'd like to learn, but with the "elite" not wanting to share the knowledge of "how to", its just gonna take a lot longer to learn. maybe in my line of work, i should just expect all my students to know everything they want to learn from me, instead of me helping them learn.
as much as i respect the knowledge of many people here on the scene, which is why i dont run around calling them names (or at least try not to, and am big enough to admit when i'm wrong), i only truly respect a few that actually try and help.
