I know this thread is not really about hdtv settings

but for cps2 on fba-xxx in 720p you can use 3x the native resolution and it fits nicely

Im in 16:9 mode on a samsung lcd. a few lines are cut off top and bottom

and there are small black bars on the sides (a little wider than those when playing ps2)

point filter and none filter (or is it none and none?)

make sure flicker and soften are 0 but I dont think they do anything in hd modes

oh and the magic numbers are 1152 x 672

everything looks nice to me (detailed pixels, aspect etc) Im not sure if Im squashing the picture a little?

but Im not using any filtering so thats a plus

Hello guys,

(Sorry for my english)

I've configured my Xport emulators in 1080i (full HD), and i've stretch my game screen for make it in 1080i to... It's work fine, no deceleration in game, beautiffull interface too !!

But i've a problem  !!!

I use MC360 for Xport skins, i've recreated all background in 1080i.

gameselect.png -----> 1920 X 1080 pixel
emuloadbkg.png -----> 1920 X 1080 pixel
loading.png -----> 1920 X 1080 pixel
mainmenubkg.png -----> 1920 X 1080 pixel

I've edited the setting.ini :

I've changed these lines everywhere

rect_b=480 -----> rect_b=1080
rect_r=640 -----> rect_r=1920

When i run Emulator the Background was not resized... and he was maxi zoomed

As if it always posted 640 X 480 of my Big Picture in 1920 X 1080

I'm sure t's possible to make it working, but i'm no a Pro and i need your help !!

Please Help me !

I found some thing that helped me set perfectly screen in Mameox128plus:

This emu have great feature that is original aspect ratio for all games (vertical and horizontal) but always set this aspect to your custom screen size (that you can set in options menu but is very hard to set perfectly to exacly 640X480 with this to arrows).

So here is what you must do :
- run some file manager (with text file editor - like unleashx dashboard) and find catalog in TDATA that contains mameox128 ini file (4d414d45)
- open MameoX.ini file and look/change this line:

SCREENUSAGE_X=1.000000
SCREENUSAGE_Y=1.000000
SCREENPOS_X=0.000000
SCREENPOS_Y=0.000000

Now you be have perfect default aspect ratio for all this great games , also you can customize this setting for your TV (on my Amiga monitor this works great as i can resize also screen as PC monitors) - but if you must make it little smaller  - don't forget to kept correct aspect for example:

SCREENUSAGE_X=0.900000
SCREENUSAGE_Y=0.900000

or only move all screen with this (for example)

SCREENPOS_X=0.100000
SCREENPOS_Y=0.100000

Enjoy

In MednafenX-PCE I have res set to 638x462 with 10x11 (or 720x480) enabled.
Everything's fine except that R-Type & R-Type Complete CD still suffers from horizontally screen tearing.
All other games are smooth as a babys behind.
Did these two games use some sort of custom resolution ?

Yes, they use... and few other games too.
The only way to correct is:

- To stretch your screen to 682 (Yes yes, there WILL BE overscan now
even with 720x480 mode ON)

- Or keep 638 and use BILINEAR to mask the tearing

For those interested on our new studies regarding
this problem, please visit:

Scroll down to the Mednafen-X PCE section of the tutorial.

Cheers,
Cospefogo.

PS. Here is the PDF version:

I would like VERY much to turn this into a torrent, anyone can help?

Gentlemen,

Finally I am able to release my definitive tutorial
for screen adjustment in the Xbox Emulators.

It's pretty complete regarding Xport and Nes6502 emulators,
and maybe you can help to increase a bit the information
for FBA-XXX and Mame.

Link:
http://www.kppshngthbttn.com/?page_id=32

If moderators find this tutorial useful, feel free to pin
somewhere else. I am very happy to be sharing my
information and helping the Scene to always reach the best
standards.

And listen to Miles Davis, brother!
Cospefogo.

Good thing there is finaly a thread on this topic!
Great page!
I did some aspect ratio research myself, unfortunately no one seemed to care at that time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hopfuly we will get a Scumm update soon with more scaling and resolution options (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)
