Way To Save Video Settings
« on: December 01, 2006, 11:06:00 AM »

So, i have a HDTV that is kinda broken... when i say kinda, i mean that it will display 1080i, but nothing less... everything else comes in a light shade of green.  the TV people said it was a digital board... but anyways... so i have my xbox running with xbmc in 1080i and that works good, i cant play any games b/c none of them are in 1080i, so i turned to emulators... i have found a way to get them to run in 1080i, but by default they load up in 480p... i think, regardless its a resolution my tv displays all in green.  I had a buddy load up fceu for example and had him talk me through the menu to where you can change the display output... when i change it to 1080i, it works great, i can actually see what i'm doing.. but it doesnt save those settings... so at long last the question is, is there a way to make fceu start in 1080i?  I poked around the ini files but didnt see anything... thanks in advance

Mednafen is the replacement for fceultra and it will save your HD settings. In fact, I beleive it automatically picks the highest resolution available. So it may just start up in 1080i the first time you start it. Also, if not, you could allways modify the ini and set it yourself.

ZsnexBox does not pick the highest by default. But all you have to do is run the emulator once and it will create a ZsnexBox.ini. Open that and change the HD setting to "HDMode=2" for 1080i. Then the next time you start it, it will be in 1080i

As long as you're using the latest version of Xport's emus, you can save video settings (it will ask if you want to save it when you change to that video mode).
