Launch Specific/single Rom
« on: November 30, 2006, 05:29:00 AM »

If I put just a single rom in the folder will it automatically load that?  Does it have to be named something specific?  I would like to set up folders with specific icons for individual games.  Thanks for any help.

No, but all of Xports emulators support command line launching. So, you can set up a link in UnleashX to launch an individual game. This will bypass the GUI and start the game directly.

Thanks for the help!  Is there anything for XBMC? Or do I just do it the same way.  I vaguely remember hearing something about that.

Search around (I know, I know, the search engine here sucks) for "shortcut files" for xbmc.  I believe these are  little pythony script files that you launch from xbmc, which turn around and launch the emulator with the appropriate rom filename.

There are a few threads in this forum of people working with them.

I too have wanted to get involved with them, so this is as good a time as any to dredge it up. (that is, I'll let you do the legwork and then I'll use whatever you come up with  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) )

Any easier ways?
