I transferred my memcard saves to the new ones with Memory Card manager.
Works like a charm.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I tried Analog support with Resident Evil 2 Dual Shock Version and Resident Evil 1 Dual Shock Version, but they wouldn't respond to the controller.
They loaded up fine and I could get in and out of the Emulator menu, but when I pressed a button that corresponded to the game, nothing happened.

does anyone know how to get Arc the Lad 2 to play, i've checked the old compatability chart, and some says the collection wont play and some say it does.  I have version 14 up through 16, haven't updated to 17 yet, but I can't get past the emulators loading screen.  Also, I've gotten monkey hero to load, but it has no music, but the music plays on my pc version of epsxe,,  so I don't know if pcsx can't handle it or what, same for arc the lad 2.  Arc 1 & 3 play okay, so I don't know what the difference is.

I agree it makes configuration confusing the way it is set up.  I was thinking about this last night.  I don't think sharing the saves folder will really create any type of problem  All the emu's have the same configuration options.

As for the analog support.  It's a hit or miss thing.  For example it didn't work for me in Gran Turismo.    But it worked fine in several other games.  Also keep in mind that some older PSX games never even knew about the analog pad.

Oh, and the left/right controls for the right pad are reversed.  NO not your left, MY left!!  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

As for compatibility lists.  I've never placed much stock in em unless they were submitted by someone who knows what they are doing.  There are a few factors that can make a perfectly playable game unplayable and unless you know what your doing a game can look unplayable at first.

ah yes, and when i start the emu it still says version 1.5 in the main menu

1.5 refers to the pcsxbox CORE, not the version of the emulator itself which is mostly a shell around the emulator CORE.

Yes, I'll probably consolidate the save dirs back into one.  I'm really sure what I was thinking with that - it would be very unlikely for someone to want to play the same game in more than one core - they'll just use the one that works best.

Can someone put together a list of games that support an analog controller?

XPort,
http://www.mobygames.com/attribute/sheet/a...buteId,138/p,6/ ("Analog" support...I don't know if there is a list of stuff that was for the rare Analog-only gamepad (see below))

http://www.mobygames.com/attribute/sheet/a...buteId,137/p,6/ (Dual Shock "Vibration" support)

----

I think that the problem some of you are having with certain games -might- be that those games are checking for something specific relating to the Dual Shock controller that's not present on the original Analog gamepad (SCPH-1150/SCPH-1180), which was out before the Dual Shock and didn't feature rumble.  This is just a theory though :)  This could account for some contradictions and semi-support showing up in games, like in Gran Turismo 2 it'll show Analog as being "N/A" in the options, yet analog steering works fine in-game.

I also tried Apocalypse (lots of graphics screwups but controls fine, Robotron 2084/Smash TV-like layout) and Arcade Party Pack out here, which has semi-emulated versions of 720° (LThumb acts like the spinny arcade stick...so great! :D) and Smash TV, where the analog sticks work as they should (aside from RThumb having reversed L/R like XPort confirmed :P)

I notice at the bottom of the configuration settings page there is a place to upload or download settings for games. Excellent idea yet very easy to accidently upload incorrect settings if you don't know emulation or are new to doing so. This of course would fill the xport server database with possible incorrect settings adding to the myriad of possible problems users are facing.
Maybe there could be a verification popup, "Correct settings to upload?        [YES]          [NO]", which could keep a bogus setting from being put on the server.

QUOTE(XPort @ Sep 5 2006, 09:47 PM) *

There are more problems than just that.  I'm seriously considering just scrapping the entire thing because it's become such a mess and I doubt that anyone can find anything truly useful on there anymore.  Furthermore, there are lots of new options and the old configurations on the website are probably not really valid anymore because of that.  There is also the issue that some people take delight in being jerks and will just upload all sorts of intentionally incorrect settings.

QUOTE(law56ker @ Sep 6 2006, 02:30 AM) *

I agree it should be cleaned up and started fresh.

A dump of the server to give the configuration data a clean slate would be nice, at the same time I don't know who would have the chance to test each and every iso config setting. This being the case, false and possible malicious settings could be uploaded anyway causing frustration for the user.

Maybe the best thing is for a thread/list to be started of "Updated and Working PCSX Config Settings" and let those who need correct settings for an iso read up and find the information themselves.
In the end, a little more time spent reading yet in trade, a properly functioning iso.

"Reading frees the mind". (and gives joy in a properly playing iso)

Wow.. That's alot of games.  The dual analog support aint half bad.  There are just a few games that must be looking for something that Pcsxbox does not emulate in the dual analog.  But so far I've had more hits than misses.  I need to stick some sports game on there and see how the multi-tap stuff works.

As for the download/upload configuration stuff.  I say put it in the hands of the user.  Allow us to specify where we want it to look.  I'm sure there are some people out there that have the time an energy to set proper configurations.  For example something like atari800xl would be great for me cause I'm familar enough with the machine to know what works and doesn't work.

I personally do not like publically submitted compatibility lists.  For reasons listed above.  Alot of time people do not know what they are doing and give false reports.  Either that or not enough information.  It is usually just a case of not understanding how the original machine works.  That is just my personal opinion.  I've seen alot of stuff reported as not working at all but when I try it, it's just fine.

Has the gameshark database always been a part of Pcsxbox?  I'm just asking cause this if the first time I bothered really using it.  It's nice to have all those codes in place.  Especially one for "Grand Theft Auto London" which just "happens" to disable the cd swap check.

I guess that makes that entry in the compatibility list here on xbox-scene forums incorrect.

Is it just me or is G-king beginning to sound like a broken record.

Speaking of performance.  If you leave old frame skipper off, frame skip on, and frame limiter off you'll get a BIG boost in speed.
