Resolution Problem When Launching Xport Emu's From Xbmc
« on: September 01, 2006, 04:50:00 PM »

Ok.

In the Xbox dash, I have the following settings:
480p - yes
720p - no
1080i - yes

I have XBMC set to 480p 16x9.

Whenever I launch an Xport emulator (NeoGenesis, FCEUltra) from XBMC, the emulator launches, however the TV displays an image as though it's receiving an incompatible resolution.  The image is kind of hard to explain. I can post a picture once I get home.

I've attempted to change the resolution of these emulators, and then exiting. But, this didn't help.

This has happened on every Xbox I've modded (many), when hooked up via my Microsoft HD pack.

If I launch these emulators from EvoX they work perfectly.

My other emulators work properly (ZSNES I think, the Gameboy one...I can't think of the name, and the N64 one I think works).

This is my 3rd time posting this issue since March of 2005. But since I just ran across this forum for the first time, I figured I'd post it again.

Any ideas?

Oh. And I've also tried this on multiple TV's.

I simply cannot believe I'm the only person running into this problem.

Are all of these boxes you're seeing the garbled screen on rev 1.6?

If so this is an infamous issue, but one that I was under the impression has been resolved in the latest versions of all of xport's emulators.

Make sure you're running the latest version of neogenesis, and maybe try one or two of the emulators that were just released last week and report back to us.

Were they all V1.6's? I really can't say. But I'd have to guess not. Despite the fact that 2 out of 3 of my Xbox's are V1.6's, I feel as though I've done more V1.0's than any other version.

When this problem first occured I'd updated and updated the emulators, but I haven't done so in probably 6-8 months.

When I get home tonight, I'll check for updates, and give that a shot.

As for the "Auto Region" in XBMC...If this is the place where it's defualted to "Canada", mine's set to U.S.....but I'll check this as well.

Ok. I've upgraded FCEUltra and NeoGenesis to the latest versions on Xbins (FCE = V16, NEO = V21)

NeoGenesis works perfectly now.

FCE still does the same thing.

FCE is dead and isn't updated anymore.  Its replacement is MednafenX-NES, and the problem is fixed there.
