"They didn't work" means what exactly?  The emulator freezes ; the game plays, but plays incorrectly ; you only get the sega cd intro screen and then you get thrown to the cd menu ; something else.

Are you launching the game via the ISO or the CUE sheet?  Are the files on your HD, your R drive, your S drive, your RLX drive, or your SMB drive?

If you're launching the game via a CUE sheet, post the contents of it.

Sorry, I forgot I made this post...I was also pretty vague.  I tried launching both the ISO and the CUE file, which are located on a relax share on my computer.  When I select the ISO file, it brings up a CD player interface, as if I were trying to play a music CD.  I guess it's not recognizing the file as being a game file, but as I said, the same ISO file runs 100% in the earlier version.  Launching the CUE file does nothing, kinda like I'm trying to run any random, unsupported file type.  Nothing happens, no lock up or anything.  Even though I'm not really trying to launch the CUE sheet, here's the contents of that:

I am trying to make a dvd+r disc of bin+cues... but some of my files are mdf+mds... and they don't seem to run.

Anyway to convert mdf to bin cue or do I have to actually burn the files?

mount the mdf as a virtual drive with Alcohol120 and then rip to a bin/cue

I'm having the same problem as Lukenatme. I'm trying to play Popful Mail, but everytime I try to run the cue sheet nothing happens. I'm running v21. Here the contents:

Anyone bored and/or skilled enough to bother checking in to whether it'd be possible to hex-edit NeoGenesis v21's .XBE to load ROMs larger than 4 megabytes, to allow for certain hacked ROMs? :/

(Well, mainly for Kabal_MK's scary Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 hack :P)

Don't run the cue, run the ISO.  As long as you have your files named correctly (and it appears you do) you can simply load the ISO and the game will play fine, complete with music.

[edit] It appears I answered a month old question... oh well.

You could ask Kabal for the changed Gens sourcecode, maybe xport can then implement the changes in a special setting or something.

some of them speak english so i'm sure they could help you.

I believe I made a forum post, as well as an email to the Gens team requesting current sources so I can do a new Linux build.  I didn't get a response.

http://umk3.hacking-cult.org

Looks like Kabal got himself a website, very nice.

It also looks like the only thing modified to gens is indeed removing the 4mb limit,
i hope xport can implement this into NeoGenesis, this is one hack that should be played on the screen.

I've been using NeoGenesis since v16..   Since I've started using it, I've noticed that the "Fast Blur" feature has never worked.

I'm not sure if it works on a standard TV or not, but on an HDTV at 720p, enabling Fast Blur does nothing.  I know that most people don't like this feature because it does exactly what it says (blurs the picture) but it was a feature that the Genesis supported.  Infact, it was the only way to do transparency effects on the system (such as Sonic's shield in sonic 1 being transparent instead of being a white checkerboard pattern)

I've been waiting version after version for this to be fixed.  If there is any development still being done on this emulator, I would love it if someone looked into the problem.

I know it's been asked before, but I'd like to add my voice.....

Is there any possible way to add 7zip support to NeoGenesis? I've got an entire GoodMerge'd collection, which is essentially useless as-is due to lack of 7zip support. I have to extract specific roms, then zip them up as a new file, in order to play them.

I would be very grateful if this could happen. Much thanks in advance!

Why not just unzip them all at once with 7zip and then use the renaming faq to quickly rename them all to xbox compatible filenames and zip them up?

Man, this is sweet!  I didn't even know it existed.  Yes, support for this rom would be great.
