I've configured all my emulators to keep their saves within their own folders to keep the E Drive cleaned up, but every time i start up an xport emu, that emulator creates an E:\SAVES folder, the Emu's Sub-folder, and a copy  of the ini file in that folder.

i've updated all the ini files in each emulator, and i want the changes to occur in those files only.  i do not want copies of the ini files to show up anywhere else as this has led to configuration problems.

how can i stop this behaviour?

thank you

I was wondering about this myself... Another thing I noticed is that even if you set the screenshots folder to e:\apps\emulators\pcsxbox\screenshots, it will create a subdirectory psx inside the screenshots folder, which isn't really needed since there will only be screenshots from that one emulator in that directory.

It's not really that big of a deal, but since I'm obsessive/compulsive, it bothers me a bit more I guess that I can't get everything set up exactly how I want it.

Hex edit the default.xbe.
Change all instances of e:\saves to d:\saves.

I wish they didn't create folders on the E drive also. I think if you have an ini in the same folder as default.xbe and it should use that file to read and store info. But the reason behind what it does, is that if you run the emulator from a dvd you can't store or make changes on the disc. I think the emulators should detect if its being run from DVD or HDD. If it's run from a DVD create files on the E drive... if run from HDD create the INI file in the same folder as default.xbe.

This is how I have all my XPORT stuff setup.

F:\Emulators\NeoGenesis v20\
Bios
Music
Saves
Screenshots
Skins
Walkthrought
avalaunch_icon.jpg
custom_launch_params.cpp
custom_launch_params.h
default.xbe
readme.txt

Then have it store and use the INI file in the same folder if read off the HDD. Or if we copy the INI over to this folder and it detects the INI file in the same DIR as the default.xbe it should never create the files on the E drive.

I was thinking Xport could have a global settings section in his gui's.  One that every Xport emu could reference for save/screenshot locations, screen size, etc.  That seems like it would make the most sense to do.
