Where Is The Source Code For These Emulator Ports?

So those with the right tools can build their own, and update with new emulator releases, especially if you get bored/too busy etc?

I don't think Xport released his emulators with the Source, I could be wrong though. Now what I'd like to see being updated is Xsnes9x, A emulator By Lantus, oh and FCEultra by Xport.

The sources for some of them are on xbins, although I don't think they are the latest releases...

Everything on xbins is at least a year or 2 off from the current releases.
I've attempted to build a few of them, but there's not much to go with.

I would be willing to personally pony up $200 for a complete set of all the latest source codes so I can fix up some things and maybe spark some future interest in these projects.  I would then release the whole shebang as open source so anyone can always get the latest stuff.

I'm sad that it has to come to this, but I'd rather pay for them than take the old stuff and attempt to reinvent the wheel to bring the old stuff up to date.

No they aren't.  And some of them are extremely old versions.

Lantus announced a little while ago that he'll soon be releasing a new version of xSNES9x, updating the SNES9x emulation core to 1.43, adding stuff like .JMA compression and possibly .7z as well and will be releasing the full source along with it. The announcement was made back near the beginning of August so.. yeah.. should be a release soonish, I'm hoping.

Oooooghff.... 7zip support.... *drools*
I can't wait until 7zip catches on more. I've got all my Japanese roms 7zipped for storage, and they take up approx. 50% less space than even RAR.

Try JMA.. it's a compression format made specifically for SNES ROMs. I heard it gets even better than 7z.

If i had the source i'd ask someone to compile a 2nd version of the mastersystem/gamegear emulator,
but with changed save paths / ini paths, in essence making it a different emulator.

i'd ask this because this emulator plays both mastersystem and gamegear roms,
but because 75% of the gamegear games are ports of mastersystem games
they share many many many filenames thus fucking up my favorites list and screenshots/savegames.

very anoying..

And if I knew how to program, I'd do that for you, but I'd one up and port Gens+, which supports Master System, Game Gear, Genesis and SegaCD.  Unfortunately for humanity, I'm stuck on 'hello world.'

I wonder if this would be hackable via a hex editor, just to change the default save and screenshot path inside the xbe file.  Otherwise, I suppose we'd have to figure out what directory it's using for TDATA and hack that so that it makes a fresh .ini file for the other emulated system.  Either one might be possible without the original source code.

I can look into this for you if hex editing isn't your cup of tea.

The -only- thing I've been lusting after would be that all of the emus are brought up to the current base GUI...framework or whatever (used in the latest GBA/Amiga/etc emu versions), so that the damned Flicker Filter/soften filter can -finally- be turned OFF.
