PCSX is great. I've only had a problem with one game, but I thought it might be of interest. The came is 'Ore no Ryouri' a japanese cooking game. It is one of the few games that only supported the duel shock controller. The game appears to run fine (goes through its demo loop and everything.) but the joypad doesnt affect it at all. Am I missing something or does this happen to all of the games that only support the duel shock ? (anyone running ape escape ?)

PCSXBox does not support analog control, so games like Ape Escape and I'm The Chef sadly are unplayable. Next time read the FAQs and READMEs before posting a question.

people that wanted to play ff7, I tried EVERY bios out there (100x, 7xxx DHTL and scph10X) And found that the 7502 Bios seems to run the battles a bit better than anything else, plus you don't have that scratchy sound during movies that move quickly. No stuttering in movies either!

QUOTE
SCPH 1001 = Usual effects, Fading into battles doesn't work, video

glitching when choosing enemies to attack, serious stuttering in videos

that move quickly. In battle sound glitching, and slowwwsss down in

battle.

SCPH 1000 = Different video size at startup - doesn't affect gameplay,

same video stutters as 1001 yet slgihtly improved (could just be my

imagination), In battle sound glitching, and  slowwwsss down in battle.

SCPH 5000 = Perfect Video, no stuttering. Same in battle glitches (No hand

selecting enemies, sound glitching and the fucking slowness)

SCPH 5500 = Perfect Video, no stuttering. Same in battle glitches (No hand

selecting enemies, sound glitching) Yet the speed seems better, and the

sound glitching a little worse.

SCPH 5502 = Just as bad as 5000. The thing that I hate about this is that

the in battle and the video's are the best part of this game to me.

This is where I started to lose heart, but lets keep going and see how the

rest fare. The series that I have left are the 7xxx and the dtlh. Oh, and

that bios from the PsOne SCPH 101.

SCPH 7000 = In battle speed is perfect with this bios, however the sound

is still shot, and that glitch with the hand is still there. At this point

I think its safe to assume that that glitch isn't going to be fixed by a

bios change.

SCPH 7001 = See 7000

SCPH 7003! Apparantly Sony enjoyed making redundant bios's. Anyhow 7003 =

See 7001.

SCPH 7502 = GLITCHES. See 7000.

SCPH 101 = Good in battle speed, usual glitches.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

DTLH 3000 = Same as all the others.

DTLH 3002 = Ditto.

I have the same problem as someone a few pages back, but noone replied. It tries to load bios from d:/bios/ but there is no folder there, do i need to put it on the disc every time. How and I can change this setting of where the bios load.
Even with HLE it goes to loading screen but then quickly back to select game.
Please can someone help.

d:\bios\ is basically a shorthand way of referring to the current directory 9e the directory that the application was launched from). So let's say PCSXbox is stored in f:\emulation\psx\.. if you want, you can set it to look for the bios in f:\emulation\psx\bios\ or you can just write d:\bios\. The same thing goes for running of a DVD or CD. Look for the "Change Default Directories" option in.. I think Utilities or Configuration.

It's highly doubtful that we will get a new version for several reasons.

- Xport hasn't been around in quite sometime, and it appears he has given up on his emulators.
- PCSXBox is based upon PCSX, whose source code was abandoned years ago when the author decided to start working on PCSX2 instead.

So the most we probably have to look forward to is a release that fixes stuff in the GUI or adds a few options, but no new core updates.

I still find it odd that pcsx never ended up on sourceforge or something,
i mean when Snes9X went opensource they got lots of interested people and they are still improving on that,

so the whole "Epsxe is perfect so nobody is interested" doesnt fly,
cause then you'd think people wouldnt give a rats ass about Snes9x cause Zsnes is good enough..

i'm just kinda curious why nobody ever set it up so that pcsx would get improvements like Snes9x gets..

The source code is publically available. It doesn't really need to be on Sourceforge. Oh, by the way, people don't give a rat's ass about SNES9x. Development has massively slowed and many of the developers have abandoned it or went over to working on ZSNES instead. There's only a handful of people that are left working on it. It's highly doubtful that we'll be seeing another major release of SNES9x any time in the near future, if ever.

I got it working by using DVD2xbox. It's is absolutely amazing. I can finally play tombi and alundra.
I find the sound prefect. but I'm not to keen on the user interface. Are there many skins available?
