Feature Request - Making a text file that Mame would look at before it boots to the main screen indicating a game in this text would make the game autoload when the emulator boots. "internal command line request" PLEASE!!

Thanks for your great work and dedication to the scene!

I'm just tossing out ideas, they are not necessarily requests though.

I dont remember mameox being capable of playing back recorded sessions (from winmame).  But I always thought it'd be kinda cool to have a screen saver function that would randomly playback these sessions.

Also cannot remember if this function is accessible from the "internal" mame engine interface, but mame32 allows you to display history.txt?  Or something like that which shows info about the game and tips, etc.  The ability to see this would be kinda cool.

YES!! History.dat owns and would be so cool. Maybe we can get a way to see the info from that file just below the snaps on the menu like we see them now, just like you can do on MAME 32.

So, you could get the cat list info on the left, snap on the right as usual and below of the screenshot/snap you would get the history.dat info that you could scroll down or up with a touch of the direccional pad or something. love.gif

Here's my feature request of MAMEoX is turbo mode and cpu overclocking. I also suggest better handling of more graphic filters that Xport is known for and maybe a new GUI. Currently MAMEoX AdvanceMAME 2x filter is very choppy and screen tearing gets worst when enabled even with VSYNC on.

ph34r.gif  Is it possible to rework only a little the video engine in Mameox? The old Mamex dont suffered from screen tearing problems

At the ROM list press START to bring up the menu
Select Options menu
Use left and right triggers to navigate to the Video Options
Enable VSYNC and voila tearing gone.

Erm oooh er... well it should do...

but it doesnt sad.gif

Looks like it doesnt work in MameOx v0.84.b3. I am new to this X-box emulator... did it ever work?

Damn

I have heard of a rumored Avalaunch skin that is designed after Metal Slug - It has multiple games on it and supposidly you can pick of of the games and it will load the emulator and game directly. Maybe someone can verify or deny this. I have spent alot of time working on trying to figure out a way for the game to boot directly on emu load. If anyone has ideas please let me know !! smile.gif

feature request: how about autorotation? i have a cocktail cabnet arcade machine and it would be a great feature, like the one on fba-xxx. or maybe some way to let the emu remember which way the game was rotated the last time i played it? thanks for your time.

I am new to MameOX and have been absolutely thrilled by the overall performance of this emulator on Xbox, after years of using Mame on the PC.

I totally agree as well with several posts in this thread --

1. Analog controls seem to be spotty in some of the Atari games from the '80s. STAR WARS is nearly impossible to control.

2. The History.dat file would be PERFECT to add.

3. Screen tearing seems to be an issue (PAPERBOY) and the VSNYC doesn't seem to help in this version, either.

4. Any support for cabinet files? Add them to the main menu somehow?

5. Sega's STAR TREK (1983) also seems to be totally unplayable...

Keep up the great work!

I've just been playing with the latest Mame 32Plus [RAW]men build (here) that plays the latest neo-geo's (like fbaxxx 02.08.04) as well as the standard mame library.  Basically, it rocks  biggrin.gif (and has the nice Mame Plus blue in-game options screen).

I don't know if its feasible or not but I wondered about basing the next big update of MameoX on their code, making MameoX the arcade emulation one-stop-shop.

Impossible?

yeah i dont expect all of these improvements to come from Xport but i hope he updates to the .87 core when it hits...there have been many driver improvements and the possibility of some preliminar hyperneogeo 64 games...so i dont mind waiting for a big core update ....maybe wait untill  .88 even
