« Reply #60 on: December 21, 2004, 05:03:00 PM »

heres the deal, i put mameox on drive f and the roms on drive g
the rom path is g:\roms\mame cuz that's where they are located
the drive path apparently is where the issue is.

i've tried \device\harddrive0\partition1 up to 6 and everytime i try to refresh the rom list so i can play a game it never seems to find them

i'm running version 0.84.3b, does this verison not support drive g or whats the problem and how do i fix it?

at this rate, you're better off waiting till 1.0 comes out since these updates are coming out quick hehe

I'd have to agree with updating Mame to .90  There are enough new roms there to warrant an update.

Does anyone know what to do about mame roms missing files? They sometimes loaded in mame-x but don't in mameox.

you must understand mamex is based on mame 67 so chances are the rom was changed in the mameox you are using.

Hi Xport and well done as usual.

VMM has been a huge improvement.
Why not improve VMM implementation and surpass Kawa-x in Neogeo Emulation ?
That will improve indirectly sound emulation as well.

Is actually Mameox emulating Neogeo roms better than kawa-x ?

The best progress would be to definetely forget kawa-x and launch Mameox instead when needed  :)

P.S.: It's not that I hate Kawa-x, it's just that I think it's a pity that its sources remain hidden. Better forget this sad story...

Additional graphic filters would increase enjoyment.

a Mameox fan,

Jontox

Probably because FBA-XXX has already surpassed Kawax.

All I'm dreaming of is a romset update. That and a way to organise my roms all over again after it is updated.

I thought sound glitches were due to VMM corruption...
Don't know if you have noticed them in FBA-XXX

It cant be true can it ?  sad.gif   that X-PORT has confirmed that its impossible for MAMEoX to be updated any more, due to a code change in main core which has something to do with the controller code.

if it's true it's damn shame, perhaps someone can make a rollback patch to turn a .89 romset into a .67 romset.  I've been using a .57/.59 set, so I was looking forward to having my new .89 set and getting an update

If existing versions of MAMEoX are still being updated with new features, etc., then I'd love to see an option to turn off the flicker-filter (ala SNES9X) to simulate a more authentic, low-res display.

I understand that some people have already done this with their own non-distributed compiles, but it'd be a nice feature for those of us without any compiler experience.

Whenever I play a game with analog controls ... for example Star Wars, or if I load up a lightgun game and try to play using the thumbstick ... I can never get the cursor into the corners of the screen. It's like there's an elliptical region that it can move in, and it almost covers the screen, but not quite ... if the stick could move another couple of millimetres, it'd reach. And yes, I've tried messing about with the controller settings in MAMEoX, but I can't get it to work. In case it makes any difference, I'm using an old style xbox controller (one of the big guys, not the S-type).

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
